Today, I signed the Appropriation Bill into law, authorizing a budget of ₦750,282,200,000 (seven hundred and fifty billion, two hundred and eighty-two million, two hundred thousand naira) for the 2025 fiscal year. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Abia State House of Assembly for their swift and thorough review of the Appropriation Bill. This budget, with 82% allocated to capital expenditures, underscores our unwavering commitment to long-lasting infrastructure projects. In 2025, significant progress will be made on projects initiated in 2023, including the Port Harcourt Road in Aba and the Umuahia-Uzuakoli-Abriba-Ohafia road, among other key initiatives. Together, we are dedicated to transforming Abia State and ensuring its continuous growth and development.

Zelensky: “If we lose Bahkmut, there will be so much pressure on us and the west could tell us to negotiate with Russia.” This is the same Bahkmut that Zelensky said was of no strategic importance and that Ukrainians don’t have to keep dying to keep it. His western backers echoed the same sentiment and in fact said that Bahkmut was gonna fall in a matter of days. It’s been several weeks since they made these admissions and they’re still dying to keep Bahkmut, despite not having a grip on anything in Bahkmut, since Russians surrounded them and started clearing the place. This war and its attendant collateral damage and the mindset of the guys behind it is downright irritating. Very annoying! So so sad!
