This might be a hot take but I know someone at meta who makes $400k a year and is quite literally capped at that number for life - likely will never get a promotion strong enough to change that. 9-5 until they’re what, 50? This is not living. No matter the salary.

we have got to stop saying things like "I don't dream of labor" when asked about a "dream job" or getting all bent out of shape by the phrase "earning a living."
as long as humans have been around, they have had to work to survive under a wide variety of different systems, some much more exploitative than others.
our current system is flawed and should continue be improved upon, but oh my god some of you just don't want to do anything.
