Gov. Cooper has announced that West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc will locate it’s latest expansion in Kinston! This will bring approx. 70 jobs to our community. We are honored to serve West Pharm. Services Inc & are thrilled about the growth the expansion will bring to our area!

Due to the inclement weather, our testing and vaccination sites will be CLOSED FRIDAY 1/21. Service will resume 10am Monday!

Other closures in our area include Lenoir County Offices, Lenoir County Courthouse, Lenoir County Schools , LCC and ECU classes are canceled for Friday. Please call 252-939-3282 with any questions, or to report any outages you may experience this weekend.

Due to the winter storm, all City facilities will close on Friday. Kinston is expected to receive ice, sleet and snow. Travel will be hazardous as the temps remain at or below freezing through Sat. Exercise extreme caution and limit travel during this time.

Starting Tuesday, Jan 18th, @StarMedCare, @kinstonrec, and the City will be expanding COVID-19 services to the Fairfield Recreation Center! Tests are available to EVERYONE 5+ from 10am-5pm (Fridays close at 4pm)! Walk in or go to starmed.care to register, no appts!

Congrats to the Duke Energy Small Business Grant Awardees! The award helps businesses recover from COVID-19 and continue to operate in the face of difficulties. Thank you to @DukeEnergy and @DerrickRemer for the award, @PrideofKinston volunteers, and everyone who applied!

The COVID-19 testing and vaccination site at Holloway Recreation Center will be CLOSED for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on Monday (1/17)and will resume services at 10am on Tuesday.

The City has begun a temporary mask mandate until Feb 1 for visitors using City facilities. All visitors must wear a mask to enter. We will continue to make masks available and encourage visitors to wear them. Our hope is to slow the surge of COVID in our staff and community.

Kinston 101 is a 10 week program that shares info with citizens about city operations. We visit city parks, create a mock city budget, tour the wastewater treatment plant, and more! Kinston 101 is for anyone interested in how the city works and how public decisions are made!
