The only sensible course left for President Ruto is to begin preparing for a peaceful and orderly transition of power next year. The complainant, who purchased her parcel of land in 2005, had been enjoying peaceful possession of the property. However, in November 2023, she was shocked to receive court documents indicating that Musdaf was claiming ownership of her land. Upon receiving the complaint, LFIU detectives launched investigations into the matter. Once complete, the findings were submitted to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), which agreed with the investigating officer’s recommendation to charge Musdaf with the offences of making a false document and uttering a forged document. As a result, Musdaf was trailed and arrested in Nairobi's Central Business District today. There's something UDA SG Hassan Omar & other UDA politicians are missing; In Mt.Kenya, we don't fancy positions. We don't even care who becomes president & our standard has always been good leadership. All we want is a favourable environment to do business. We don't want to be overtaxed. We want markets for our coffee & tea. We want good roads. We want clean water. We want good hospitals & schools. UDA should just fire all the PSs & CSs that come from Mt.Kenya region, we don't eat positions & I'm not sure how we have benefited by having Lee Kinyanjui, Mutahi Kagwe, Moses Kuria & William Kabogo in this government. Let them all go home.

@brian_mutiga Mr Mutiga , this is the math Mr Kibaki faced in 2007 and he won. It is not insurmountable. The Kibaki win in 2007 was a precedent setting math for any incumbent president hoping to get a second term.

In 2027, voter turnout in Mt.Kenya region will be 100%. Nyanza's turnout will be 30%. Somali's who have promised Ruto a second term, can't be more than 100k. Western region is in opposition. Coast region won't allow themselves to be associated with Ruto. I don't really see how Ruto is coming back, no matter how hard they try.

@GlitteringAnge I don't think ODM guys care whether the party remains a shell , they don't even have a presidential candidate , all that matters to them is the proximity to power. People who want to become president, like sifuna , should leave and find new parties.

Those predicting another 2007 are ignoring the difference, because 2007 was almost spiritual, the political divide was real, the loyalty was deep and you could feel the tension in the air before anything happened. What we are seeing now is not that kind of organic political anger, it is paid goonism, where someone is given Sh1,000, handed a stone and told to manufacture fear for politicians who cannot win honestly. A paid goon can reach a point and say, “Man, this is enough for the Sh1,000 they gave me,” because there is no cause, no belief and no real public support behind the violence. Ruto is cornered from every side, and good Kenyans are the overwhelming majority, so any attempt to use hired goons in 2027 will be met by citizens neutralizing them refusing to let a tiny paid minority terrorise the country.

John Mbadi, you're saying Raila Odinga won in 2007 without kikuyu votes, with barely 2% of the vote from Central Kenya. Fair enough. But here's what you're leaving out. In 2007, BABA had broad support across multiple regions large backing in Luo Nyanza, significant support in Western, strong support in Ukambani, much of the Coast, and substantial backing in parts of the Rift Valley. So the question is: if you're using 2007 as your comparison, what equally broad coalition does President Ruto have today? Political victories are built on coalitions, not on one region alone. That's the comparison that matters. What does Ruto have? That's the question Kenyans will answer at the ballot box. It's not the Kikuyus vs William Ruto that's where you get it wrong it's the 47 counties, the people of Kenya, the Republic vs WSR.

@ouma_neko Raila didn't win in 2007. The winner was Kibaki and that's why he took State House. Raila and Ruto were defeated and that's why they turned into guerillas and killed many Kenyans.

@ouma_neko Mt. Kenya will not be producing a presidential candidate, it will be backing an opposition ticket whose flag bearer, by all odds, seems to be Kalonzo - Sifuna. Mt. Kenya will therefore be topping up to their baskets, a very different scenario from 2007.

Hassan Omar is not speaking for himself. He is merely echoing the thinking of those who sent him. His remarks expose a dangerous mindset that public appointments are political rewards to be withdrawn if citizens exercise their democratic right to vote differently. Mr. President William Ruto, Kenya does not belong to any political party. Cabinet Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, CEOs and all public officers serve the Republic of Kenya, not UDA. Their positions are created by the Constitution, not by campaign rallies & political loyalty. No Kenyan should ever be told that access to public service depends on remaining politically loyal. The hustlers , mama mboga, bodaboda, bebabeba & all stood with you can as well decide the same that is not democracy; it is an attempt to turn government into a party project. The people of Mt. Kenya overwhelmingly backed UDA in 2022. If today they are being reminded that public appointments can become bargaining chips whenever political loyalties shift, then every Kenyan should pay attention. A government must treat all citizens equally regardless of how they voted. Kenya's future must be built on constitutional rights, merit, fairness and equal opportunity not on political intimidation or the suggestion that citizens will be punished for exercising their democratic choice in 2027. The ballot belongs to the people, not to those in power.

I've always said that Mt. Kenya will for a long time, determine who becomes president. The region is vote-rich, and it has traditionally voted as a bloc. The entire Luo Nyanza vote is outweighed by Kiambu County alone, which accounts for barely 20% of the Mt. Kenya vote. Ruto needs the Kikuyu vote more than the Luo vote. Numbers don't lie... I think He's smart enough not to believe that he'll get even half of what Raila got in Luo Nyanza.
