Thursday's meeting of Cafe Europe, Holmfirth was attended by @Heather95238955. Other Colne Valley candidates were invited but none showed up. @YorkshireParty sent a statement (standing on the fence). @TheGreenParty turned up and we explored a future rebuilding relations with EU.

Finding beauty today in the last few blossoms left around Queensgate & piazza centre in #Huddersfield. No Art has been installed behind these so I'm really hoping these trees are safe. Do you know if they are @KirkleesTrees ? I'll need to get on the phone to Banksy if more go!

No. Not yet. There are 38 trees in this part of town. 27 are to be felled 3 with ivy are going to be stripped and checked. 10 have already gone. So there is still 17 maybe more to go. There are nests in those trees so they should be left alone.

@KirkleesCouncil are taking trees down for aesthetic reasons because they "spoil the view".
Trees are the view and we need to keep them in the hard landscapes of our town centres.
Transplanting existing trees into town centres is no gain in carbon terms.
