I started as a visiting scientist @ANSTO this week. With my friend @KirrilyRule we had the rare treat of a tour of Australia's first research nuclear reactor, Hifar. Super fun to see all the analogue dials and hand drawn signs, plus learn the history.

@KirrilyRule I also thought they were two types of crystals, but what we see as dark blue needles are actually the same brown ones, but viewed perpendicular to the thin edge.

Not exactly the crystal size I wanted to get, but it is still a great image! :)
