@postcardsbyelle This is a most hilarious yet educational thread 🤣
Reminds me of the Sarah J Maas books, also utterly mad and badly written yet somehow everyone loves them and recommends them all the forking time.
in honor of it ends with us becoming a movie, here is a thread of the worst lines from colleen hoover's books in hopes that trees will stop dying for her terrible writing:
@lidl_ireland bought this park side weed burner a few weeks ago. Impossible to find refills for it in the shop. Can you please tell me where to find them or what type they need to be. google has been zero help.
@pamela_weaver@BrianLeonardFR I live in France and was
working at a wedding and the chef brought out the vegetarian option for the guests which was a Tuna salad!
In a restaurant in Bordeaux with colleague. He asked for well done steak. Waiter told him to have chicken. He asked for butter, “for the bread?” “Yeah. “No”. At the end of the meal waiter asked if we’d like coffee. Colleague asked for cappuccino… “No. That’s for breakfast” 😂
@pamela_weaver@BrianLeonardFR In a restaurant in Nice the only vaguely vegetarian option had mortadella on it. The confusion it caused when I asked them to remove it and replace it with cheese which was on the menu as an optional extra. Needed the head waitress to come and discuss. And I speak fluent French
@DanWells1139026@daydream113017 I assume you feel the same way about your taxes going to the military and wars and bombing the sh*t out of Palestine? Or do you reserve your ire for school kids, the funding of which is probably two cents of your taxes per year vs the roughly $2500 for the military?
@RobertCFP@cmclymer You probably shouldn’t come anywhere near Ireland, the UK or anywhere in Europe really then. You’ll basically have to block your poor delicate sensitive ears.
Personally, I have a problem with anyone using an f-bomb, including when I slip. I feel horrible when I do, and I frankly try to spend as little time around other people who seem to feel it's an acceptable adjective/adverb in common language. I'm not "offended". I refuse to take offense. I jus don't believe the word has a place. I'm not about legislating it.
If you have a problem with the most powerful woman in America inoffensively saying the word "fuck" -- you're gonna want to sit down to hear all the far more profane things Trump has said just in the past month.
Shortly, after SG-1 was cancelled, we stopped receiving network notes. As a gag, I wrote a scene into a script that saw our resident alien, Teal'c, inadvertently attend a reading of the Vagina Monologues. I assumed that, when they saw it, they would ask me to remove it...
@marija24@hormiga@erinbiba I’m the same, I watch what I want and maybe pay for a month or two but unsubscribe pretty quickly. This means I’m not tied to any one service and can watch what I want.
@hormiga@erinbiba I do the same thing… if there is a show I want to watch, I subscribe for a month, cancel immediately, and then decide the next month if I want to watch the same service or do something else.
@xoxogossipgita Just coming here to say that if you haven’t read Susan Cooper’s EXCELLENT series “The Dark Is Rising” about a boy who finds out on his 11th birthday that he’s a wizard and the last of the line that began with Merlin, then I HIGHLY recommend it!
@conor_pope I have an A1 rated home and only electricity. I was away for 3 weeks over Christmas so everything that could be was turned off.
My bill for the last year has been between €180 and €200. This January it’s €481.
Utterly livid.
Have your electricity and/or gas bills for the darkest of the winter months arrived yet? And if so, how much higher were they this year when compared with January 2022?
Honestly, the crux of the fast fashion conversation, for most consumers, is that they think it’s beneath them to have one winter coat they wear for five years or one dress they’ve worn so often, people recognize it. The underpinnings are rich people cosplay.
@dduane hello hello, popping by because I was hoping to listen to the Young Wizards audiobooks. But they aren’t available on Audible in Ireland.
Where else might I buy them? Any leads please 🙏 Google is being rather silent on the subject 🧐
