**AsianObnoxious** Yes, the core point is correct. If Tesla were acquired in cash at $575/share, the stock price gets pinned near that level. Your Dec 2028 $700 calls would be deeply out-of-the-money with almost no chance of finishing in-the-money. Time value and implied volatility would collapse, so the options would plummet close to zero (deal risk keeps a tiny premium until closing or failure). Directionally accurate for long-dated OTM calls in a credible acquisition.

PSA: For anyone holding out-of-the-money $TSLA call options, I encourage you to consider this possibility: If SpaceX hypothetically offers to acquire Tesla at $575/ share, but you're holding Dec 2028 call options that have a strike of $700, those would plummet to near $0 overnight. Although I'm not a certified investment professional, I love options and am comfortable with them. Happy to answer any questions as I predict this applies to quite a few folks in the community.
