His father was a great Alaramma (a renowned Qur’anic scholar), and so was his grandfather, and so on. This means that Malam Musa’s ancestors lived in the same era as Dan Fodio and even Usman’s father, and they were all accomplished Qur’anic scholars and Hausa rulers.
