There are different faiths in this nation. Not everyone does the same thing. When Christians (those who do) fast during Ash Wednesday or Good Friday they ask nothing of their fellow citizens. When Jews fast, a hard fast during Yom Kippur they ask nothing of their fellow citizens. When Latter Day Saints fast one day a month they ask nothing of their fellow citizens. When Buddhists, Hindus, Jain Dharma fast during Brahms Net Sutra six days each month and 3 months throughout the year, they ask nothing of their fellow citizens. What makes you think you have the right to impose your voluntary sacrifice to others?

A doctor who admitted to removing the ovaries of two women in Guernsey without their consent will be allowed to continue practicing. Gynaecologist Dr Ali Shokouh-Amiri also faced more than 100 allegations of inappropriate behaviour, with 24 instances proven, but has been deemed fit to continue working in healthcare. A Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service panel has found dozens of allegations proven - ranging from over-familiarity with patients' surgical issues and clinical errors. One patient told the hearing in Manchester the removal of her left ovary without her consent "had ruined her life". Another patient, who believed Dr Shokouh-Amiri deliberately removed her ovaries, said it had brought on the menopause prematurely. The gynaecologist has been working as a consultant at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust since November 2022. The Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service ruled he had "shown good insight into his failures" and had put in place "procedures and actions to address his failings to ensure they do not happen again".

WTAF Why should a black lesbian be treated any differently to a white lesbian, or a straight woman or a gay man or any person with fucking cancer for that matter. That is so sad. My dad left when I was 3. My mom remarried when she was 35. 3 weeks later my stepdad told her that as a Christian he felt convicted for leaving his first wife, and that he should have never remarried. He determined not to make the marriage work. He essentially kept to himself, gave her the silent treatment, and kept her distant. My mom held on until he divorced her 8 years later.
