Such a bullshit article. Typhoon and Tornado were not disasters. We should’ve kept tornado longer and bought more Typhoon. And unless you’re privy to information the rest of us aren’t, declaring Tempest as a disaster in the making as well is just plain bollocks.

@Eddystone506 In lay person speak that's the lifetime paying coat of 200 Type 45 destroyers, roughly 12 Queen Elizabeth carriers or 2000 F-35s.

The real question isn't "should we rejoin?" It's "why on earth wouldn't we?" £100bn lost in trade. GDP 4% smaller. Food bills up 25%. And the crown still costs £138m. The Tories broke it. Farage cashed in. The crown watched. And you paid.

On Brexit Deputy PM David Lammy says “Farage said it would bring down immigration, it hasn’t it’s got worse, Farage said we would be better off, we’re much much poorer, everyone across the country realises that, there were promises made and we should hold their feet to the fire” 👏

Most voters today think Brexit was a mistake bc it hasn’t delivered & can’t (we’re cut out of the Single Market, future growth hit *by 6-8%, Trump came back, Putin attacked UKR, Covid struck). Imo we’ll never go back - but that does not make Brexit lies ‘true’.
Anthony Glees @anthonyglees@AnthonyGlees

The Brexit deal ‘negotiated’ by Frost & enacted by Boris (two ardent Brexiters) was 99% pure Brexit (to appease the Brexit ‘Trojans’). It was so bad that Tory Sunak (a smooth but cynical Brexiter) began the process of softening out of necessity - as Starmer is also doing.

To sum up yesterday's posts - Farage said he paid for his £1.4m house with the £1.5m fee for I'm a celebrity. He told FT he paid that fee into his company, Thorn in the Side (who will have invoiced ITV). That money never left his company. So he's lying again.

Imagine how much better off Britain could have been if the Tories hadn’t torched roughly £100bn a year in lost growth and revenue — if coward Cameron hadn’t been so scared of Farage and hadn’t called the referendum.

🚨 NEW: Fiona Bruce confronts Reform UK panelist with Brexit’s economic damage live on #BBCQT 👇 “By 2025 the UK’s GDP per capita would be 6-8% lower than if we stayed in the EU.” “Investment is 12-18% lower than it would have been.” Asked if rejoining the EU is a solution, Reform’s Danny Kruger simply replied: “No.”

Is Starmer amazing? No. Is he a decent bloke? Yes. Every leader makes mistakes. Thatcher, Churchill, Blair. Now tiny issues are magnified into full blown crisis. Perspective needed. Line must be drawn or we end up with instability ad infinitum with PMs going every other year.
