#russianlearners #langtwt what would you say the trickiest grammar points are in Russian? I have a lesson next week and the teacher has asked me to come up with some grammar points I want to learn. I am intermediate level.

@Klanguages123 Active is when I’m doing nothing else. Semi-active is when I’m doing something else that takes almost no attention like walking on my treadmill. Passive is when I’m doing something else that takes away some of my attention to the point where I miss whole parts of the content.

In 14 days (not incl. today) I got just under 24 hours of active immersion. A realistic goal for me most weeks is an hour per day, so I feel really good about this. I also did Anki and Clozemaster every day and some “semi-active immersion”. #langtwt

#langtwt #studytwt how do you learn new vocabulary. Make lists and read them? Flashcards? Sentences?

@Klanguages123 But this is all just theory based on the principles I learn by, I have not personally tried this specific exam prep method since I don’t take exams, so I cannot with confidence speak for it’s effectiveness. however I think it would work 😂

@Klanguages123 And slowly, slowly, my passive vocab grows on its own. I haven’t done any “dedicated vocab studying” in like 5 months, but my comprehension is still steadily going up week to week, month to month :) The magic of language acquisition ✨✨✨

@Klanguages123 @thelangbot A google chrome extension that shows you both subs (native languages and target language) to shows you watch on Netflix and vids on youtube! It has a lot more cool features to help you learn so I totally recommend

@Klanguages123 @thelangbot A mix of flash cards and reading. Eventually it starts sticking, but trying to force it by memorization never works well for me. It’s better if it happens naturally.

@Klanguages123 @thelangbot Recently, I started a new language and 90% of the vocabulary I can remember is bc of a tv show that I’ve been watching with the language reactor google chrome extension. The day I started the language is the same day I started the show

@Klanguages123 @LearnGreek1981 @T_L_Guy I’m learning Spanish and they just happen to have a ton of books in Spanish. I own about 20 Spanish audiobooks (including all 7 Harry Potter). They do have many in other languages too though. I own Harry Potter in Japanese and German as well, among other books.
