I hate to beat a dead horse since our series has long ended, but it really irks me when Knicks fans claim that since KP played, it means we were healthy
In the last 2 years against NYK, he averaged 22 and 6 on 70 TS%. After he contracted his illness, he couldn’t play defense, rebound, or even score 10 points in a single game. He was essentially a hospital patient that Mazulla sent out like a lamb to the slaughter.
We still shouldn’t have blown the 20+ point leads, but we were not fully healthy before Tatum got hurt.
