@KnightUK007 @blaiklockBP Their response time is on average 2-5 minutes. FAR faster than the NHS. So if I lived in one of the areas they service I would certainly call them first. But of course it's up to you, you may prefer to take your chances with the NHS!

Quite extraordinary that one group have their own ambulances and vehicles and some that look like police cars . Can anyone just set up an ambulance service with a different number for quick service? These Ambulances do treat other groups but people with the number get quicker service.

Yes, there are private ambulance services. St John's is a well known one. This particular one is also run as a charity, just like St John's. But unlike St John's the people who work in the Haztola emergency medical response teams are almost all volunteers. It was established in the late 19070s to address delays in NHS ambulance response times. Now they respond to thousands of emergencies annually. It's a CQC-registered service rated "Good" and works closely with the London Ambulance Service, NHS hospitals, and emergency services. Volunteers typically respond within 2–3 minutes due to their local presence and rapid dispatch system. Anyone who's ever called an NHS ambulance will understand how bloody amazing that is. All Haztola services are free to the public, just like the NHS would be, but they get no government funding, it's fully funded from private donations. We need more of these kinds of *real* and useful charities, if we're not going to ever tackle NHS reform.
