O Dawg - Charge it to the Gameee
Not too long ago this song Charge it to the Gameee dropped from O Dawg. An artist out of New York whose album I heard earlier this year and enjoyed! So when I saw this drop right when I finished my last run of singles, I set this to the side with intention to come back the next time I got into some singles, so here I am!
This is a quick track, blink and it’s done damn near. But one that brings enough in that time to catch a new fan for sure! The beat sings out and continues throughout the song. It brings a sound that reminds me of another favorite song, but keeps its own identity. Meanwhile O Dawg methodically bars up the beat. Spitting lines like “you can plan for the rain, but when it pours charge it to the game”. Catching a flow through the song that hypnotizes you through the short but dope verse. I almost wish O Dawg was just a splash louder or maybe the whole track, but still very hearable by all means.
Charge it to the Gameee was a great song from O Dawg and I look forward to whatever he’s cooking up next! This is a great introduction song if you aren’t familiar with O Dawg already and if you are then you already know! Give this song a shot and see if it fits your personal playlist!

Album Review Pillz Bury, Knowledge Da Nerd & The 17th Cipher - T.H.R.O.N.E. open.spotify.com/album/4pxiROuV… The 17th Cipher stays busier than almost anyone I know, keeping me busy as I attempt to keep up with all the releases! This time we have the project T.H.R.O.N.E., in collaboration with the New York rapper Pillz Bury and the Chicago producer Knowledge Da Nerd! This 4 song, 10 minute EP packs a major punch, so let me get into it! This album has a lot of great themes and messages, starting with The Revolution. A song where Pillz Bury says “I selling you no dreams, I ain’t telling you no lies”, as Pillz Bury kicks off a revolution against many foes. With a quiet yet driven beat from Knowledge Da Nerd. Next is A Fixed Fight and it’s easily one of the best songs on T.H.R.O.N.E.. bringing a low key beat which works because Pillz Bury words are what need all the focus. It’s a song filled with powerful quotables, the hook lets you know what Pillz Bury is talking about as he spits “power to the people, they’ve got the fight fixed, they’ve got the badges and guns they hit the nightsticks… and you just got the right to remain silent and like this”. A must listen type of track. 1 Time is for the grinders & the hustlers as Pillz Bury gets heavy into his street talk and stories, which fittingly brings the smoothest beat of the EP. And then Chi.L.I. brings the single feature on T.H.R.O.N.E. but it’s one that makes an impact. One of my favorite MCs IAMGAWD hits the tracks as the lyrical Chicago to Long Island connect is made with Pillz Bury. A great rapping track to end the EP on and brings a nostalgic feeling beat like IAMGAWD says. This is a great project that gives you a dope introduction to both Pillz Bury and Knowledge Da Nerd for anyone like me that’s new to both of these artists. But like I’ve said before, if The 17th Cipher is working with someone, I have faith going in. And Pillz Bury and Knowledge Da Nerd delivered with T.H.R.O.N.E. and hooked me in as a fan!
