When we were doing The Maxx for MTV, we didn't have model sheets because for Sam the characters are different every time you draw them and so he didn't want one fix "Model" as long as the drawing embodied the essence of the character it was on 'model' Rest in peace Sam

25 years ago today, animation legend William Hanna passed away at the age of 90. He was one of the co founders of Hanna-Barbera Studios and made iconic shows such as ‘Scooby-Doo’, ‘Tom and Jerry’, and much more.

Sean Stevens has passed away at the age of 47 following a battle with cancer. He was known for working on the Aqua Teen Hunger Force Movie Film for theaters ad campaign, which led to the infamous 2007 Boston “bomb scare” incident.

You better believe that #SamKieth creation, The Maxx was brought to life through cosplay for the annual Wizard Halloween costume contest.

Well this is a big one. The Maxx is great, but underrated are Sam Kieth's non-superhero works. The Maxx was personal, but Kieth wanted to explore further. In the 90s, he represented the best elements of the mainstream & alt-comix, but fit neither category easily. A true individual, a true artist, a true loss. #RIP
