The Force Commander of Operation Atalanta’s 52nd rotation Rear Admiral Daniele Martinuzzi, made the comments during a visit to the Port of Mombasa Rear Admiral Martinuzzi noted that KPA’s sustained support particularly in inter‑agency information sharing has been instrumental in strengthening operational effectiveness at sea. In his remarks on behalf of Chief Executive Officer Captain Ruto, General Manager Cargo Operations Dr.Sudi Mwasinago , underscored the importance of the long‑standing partnership, emphasizing that European forces remain essential in safeguarding maritime trade routes. “We deeply acknowledge the role played by the forces in ensuring that international trade is not disrupted by insecurity,” Dr. Mwasinago remarked. Operation Atalanta, an EU naval security mission, works to enhance maritime safety across the Western Indian Ocean, bolster regional capacity, and ensure safe passage for vessels operating along one of the world’s most vital trade corridors.
