During National Athletic Training Month, the conversation isn’t just about appreciation. It’s also about retention. Mike Bass, AD at @AlvinISDAth, believes the answer starts with support. ATs stay for the passion: students, impact, and being part of something bigger. But passion alone isn’t enough. Leadership has to match it with personnel, flexibility, and intentional support. If we want to keep great people in education-based athletics, we have to build systems that make it sustainable for them.
