NTB only getting the credit card outstanding values.
These cards will decline in usage within 3 months.
I think NTB will not get the value paid..

@RexClementine @HSBC @HSBC has not given an option to close customer accounts but transferred the customer to NTB as a mandatory transfer without explicit consent from customer!
This is a violation of Cx rights, to get higher sale value of $50mn.

Been a loyal customer of @HSBC for over two decades. Today, they ditched me. With no proper explanation whatsoever. I’m not alone. Many other Sri Lankans suffered the same fate. My humble hope is that they regret the decision one day.

@Channa_Amare Nope. NTB will merge those. For an example, in kandy NTB and HSBC branches located in same street and few meters aways. So NTB will close kandy branch and move to HSBC branch.

Assuming all are branches, this will increase NTB's branch count from 90 (down from 95 a year ago) to 99

Does NTB get any real estate? Banking is overcrowded. NTB is not at same service level of HSBC Most are duplicate customers already. No one uses NTB cards.. @HSBC not giving option to customers to close accounts? That is a violation of policy. Doubt NTB will get US$57mn worth!!

What I didn't factor in:
Singapore: 20% goes to CPF (mandatory savings)
Dubai: No income tax but housing eats 40-50% of salary
Sri Lanka: PAYE up to 36%, but lower base
Net disposable income tells a different story than gross costs.
