A few years ago, I made a promise to myself. I said, "If I ever make 150 million naira, I’m flying out. I’m going to stay in Canada or UK. I’m going to sit down, breathe, and figure my life out from there."
It was my escape plan. My idea of "making it." I genuinely believed that once I hit that number, I needed to leave my current environment to actually feel the success.
I made the money long time ago but why am I still here? Why haven't I booked the flight?
I realized something profound. Once I hit that milestone, my mind didn't say "pack your bags." Instead, my mind started dreaming bigger.
But then it hit me. The isn’t really about the money right now. It’s about the option.
I can go to Canada tomorrow if I want to. But I can also stay. I can fly out, spend two weeks there, realize the weather is cold and the food is different, and fly back. I can spend that money here in Nigeria, living life on my own terms. I can do whatever I want.
That is the freedom trading gives you.
It’s about the power of choice.
You can afford the rent in CAD, but you can also afford the rent in Lekki. You can afford to stay, you can afford to go, and you can afford to come back.

I’ve never really said this out loud before.
But late 2024 humbled me in a way nobody saw.
On the outside, I was still “SABIIGAL.”
But on the inside? Not to talk about.
That season taught me something quietly painful:
You can be skilled and still lose if your mind isn’t settled. You can know your strategy and still sabotage yourself if your heart is heavy.
If you’re going through something right now, relationship tension, family stress, school pressure, financial urgency, don’t force yourself to trade just because you feel behind.
Nobody tells you that part.
They’ll tell you to master risk management.
They’ll tell you to journal.
They’ll tell you to backtest.
You don’t prove strength by trading through pain.
Fix up and come back.
The market will still be there next week.
Next month.
Next year.
But your peace? That one you must protect!
