GATE Space (Techstars 2023), a Vienna-based satellite propulsion company, has secured €6.3M in grants and equity funding through the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator. 🛰️ Founded by Moritz Novak, Clemens Weisgram, Alexander Sebo, and Taras Weinl, GATE Space builds chemical propulsion systems that allow satellites to maneuver once in orbit — adjusting position, avoiding debris, docking with other spacecraft, and safely deorbiting. The company's flagship product, the GATE Jetpack, is a plug-and-play propulsion unit designed for ESPA-class satellites weighing between 50 and 500 kilograms. "This funding is an extraordinary validation of our technology, our team, and our vision. Beginning today, we are industrializing nuclear battery production at the historic Vallecitos Nuclear Center. With this facility, we will deliver our first nuclear battery to customers in 2027 and scale production in 2028 - powering critical missions from the seabed to the lunar surface.

Not every mission needs a megawatt. Nuclear batteries will power the next frontier – beginning in 2027.
