How has someone watched Liverpool under Arne Slot and not only decided he shouldn’t have been sacked but put the price up for tickets next season to watch this shit 😂
Liverpool’s anaemic title defence has to go down as one of the worst in years. To play with this lack of intensity, this lack of organisation defensively, this lack of pace is so poor and reflects badly on Arne Slot. Liverpool teams have identity. This one doesn’t.
Liverpool are such a difficult watch: good players shorn of energy and belief (Kerkez and Mamardashvili played well, Ngumoha deserves to come on earlier). Mitigating factors exist, including the failure to move earlier last summer and land Marc Guehi that proved very damaging.
A decision has to be made on Slot in the summer, but surely not now. Not while Liverpool are still in the Champions League - although PS-G’s Kvaratskhelia, Dembele, Barcola and Doue will take some stopping by that vulnerable defence. Not while they are still in the FA Cup - although they travel to Manchester City four days before visiting PS-G.
And not while they still have a chance of finishing in the top five - although their run-in involves run-ins: Everton, Manchester United and Aston Villa away. Fulham, Palace, Chelsea (six-pointer) and Brentford at home. Forbidding schedule. #LFC
💣 🔴BIG BREAKING: Arne Slot is under serious pressure.
If Liverpool fail to beat Galatasaray at Anfield and are eliminated from the UCL, the club hierarchy could move to sack him, with patience reportedly running out after a distastrous draw to Spurs.
FT: #LFC 1 Spurs 1: Boos ring around Anfield at the final whistle and understandably so. Dreadful performance from Slot's side punished by Richarlison's late equaliser. So much wrong with that. Spurs deserved their point. Major blow to the Reds' hopes of CL qualification.
HT: Galatasaray 1 #LFC 0: Lemina's early header is the difference in Istanbul. Strange half. Deficit could have been greater but for a couple of great saves from Mamardashvili. Slot's side look so vulnerable defensively but threatening going forward. Wirtz has been wasteful.
