@FBAwayDays Absolutely no problem with it at all. Football is about passion and emotion take that away and all you are left with is a soulless stadium of “happy clappers”

History…
In the 1810’s a bypass to Highgate village was built on the main road from the north as the mail coaches had difficulty getting up the hill, especially in or after bad weather.
On the highest point The Woodman was built which probably included stabling at that time.
It was rebuilt on roughly the same foundations in the early part of the next century in the Arts & Crafts style with additional floors.
In the 1980’s it had additional toilets and back room added which was used for pool and darts.
A decked area was added on the back of the pub in 2009 to increase the outdoor seating and then a roof to part of the area to give alfresco dining for around 60 people in 2012.

Most people know there is no supply of gas to London Underground stations (for obvious reasons). Maybe this incident is the reason the security level has been raised? bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Focusing on Reform won’t erase your relationship with dodgy people, Wes.
Broadcast this!

I’ve never been so shocked and disgusted by a Labour Party election broadcast. No wonder it has been censored. It’s because we didn’t use our own words - just those of Reform UK politicians. It needs to be watched and shared so that people know who and what they’re voting for.

The "Gates of Berlin".
Schlacht um die Seelower Höhen.
The Battle of the Seelow Heights .
16 - 19 April 1945.
A pitched battle, it was one of the last assaults on large entrenched defensive positions of the Second World War.
It was fought over three days, from 16 to 19 April 1945. Close to 1,000,000 Soviet soldiers of the 1st Belorussian Front (including 78,556 soldiers of the Polish 1st Army), commanded by Marshal Georgy Zhukov, attacked the position known as the "Gates of Berlin".
They were opposed by about 110,000 soldiers of the German 9th Army, commanded by General Theodor Busse, as part of the Army Group Vistula.
This battle is often incorporated into the Battle of the Oder–Neisse.
The Seelow Heights was where some of the most bitter fighting in the overall battle took place, but it was only one of several crossing points along the Oder and Neisse rivers where the Soviets attacked.
The Battle of the Oder–Neisse was itself only the opening phase of the Battle of Berlin.
The result was the encirclement of the German 9th Army and the ensuing Battle of Halbe in which the 9th Army was destroyed.
The defensive line on the Seelow Heights was the last major defensive line outside Berlin.
From 19 April, the road to Berlin—90 km (56 mi) to the west—lay open.
Estimates of Soviet casualties during the assault on the Seelow Heights vary from under 10,000 to over 30,000 killed.
By 23 April, Berlin was fully encircled and the Battle in Berlin commenced.

@simon3677 Fantastic idea buddy. I’m just gutted at the futile loss of life on both sides. However, that takes nothing away from the brave men that fought there.

@Kriggie1 There is an airborne heritage trail which I want to do once I retire and then I plan to visit Arnhem and go to the visitor centre and John Frost Bridge and top it off with game at SBV Vitesse 👍

@Kriggie1 saw these at Grantham train station, didn’t know the area was so key for airborne training during the war.
