A Saudi man married a Sudanese woman in Sudan and had a son with her. He then divorced her and took his son back to Saudi Arabia, telling him that his mother had died. When the son grew up and was over thirty years old, the father confessed to him that his mother was alive. That young man is Abdullah Khoujali, a player for the Saudi Al-Nassr football club. A satellite channel interviewed him after secretly bringing his mother from Sudan, surprising him with her presence. Watch the mother's first interview.

This little, warm family has broken my heart. Yesterday in Aramoun, the enemy targeted them. The father, Mohammad Shehab, was killed. His little daughter, an angel, was also killed. And his wife now lies severely wounded, suspended between life and death. This is the "target bank" of an enemy that claims military superiority, a bankrupt enemy that, while being crushed on the battlefield in the south, vents its rage on defenseless families. A father. A child. A mother fighting for her life. And yet the world that lectures everyone about "human rights" and "international law" suddenly finds its voice missing when the victims are Lebanese civilians. The same capitals that rush to condemn in hours when it suits their politics now meet the killing of entire families with cold indifference or worse, justification wrapped in diplomatic language.

The funeral of Father Pierre El-Rahi, Maronite parish priest of a Christian village, is celebrated today in #Lebanon, as these villages once again experience the tragedy of war. I am close to all the Lebanese people in this time of grave trial. Fr. Pierre was a true shepherd. As soon as he heard that parishioners had been wounded in a bombing, he rushed to help without hesitation. May the Lord grant that the blood he shed become a seed of peace for beloved Lebanon. #PrayTogether

You don’t have to express gratitude publicly to be a “good citizen”. Also, your host country is hosting US bases and has strong affiliations to Israel, putting you in the situation you are in right now. Spare us.

On top of all this madness, we’re now watching GCC expats too afraid to admit they’re afraid so that they won’t tarnish their host country’s “image”; publicly posting how “grateful” they are for the UAE or Qatar and how everything was handled.
