@devellix A team might get some decisions for or against due to refreeing incompetence/inconsistency or due to VAR applied in a wrong way once In a while. A team can't get only the for decisions almost all the matches from the last world cup. Yes it's a conspiracy but thers some substance

And I say this as a childhood Brazil fan. I'd like nothing more than for Argentina to lose in the group stage. But there is a difference between VAR being inconsistently applied and refereeing incompetence, and a team "cheating." Fucks sake.

Argentina haven't "cheated" their way to a World Cup semi-final. They didn't ask Breel Embolo to dive. It is absolutely insane that people are so consumed by wanting to be perceived a certain way, politically, that introducing needless venom into a discourse is the only thread available to them.

@iamrohitian45 I started my football journey hating on Ronaldo as a chelsea fan in early Jose days. Later when he moved to Real I was indifferent to both him and Leo. Didn't care. 2022 I realised even as a neutral the system favoured Messi. The system made me love CR7 more. People's GOAT

As a lifelong Cristiano Ronaldo fan, I rarely give Lionel Messi the benefit of the doubt, but Argentina's comeback against Egypt was earned on the field, not gifted by the referee. The real story wasn't VAR; it was how politics and old narratives quickly overshadowed one of the tournament's greatest comebacks. writes @Dogberrryy opindia.com/2026/07/as-a-l…

Name a footballer you love. I don’t want to hear Messi, Ronaldo, or Neymar. Just tell me a random footballer you love. Let me start: I love David Beckham, one of the most handsome footballers and a former England player.

💔 Tragedy & Michael Ballack’s Ultimate Sacrifice (2002 World Cup) 🇩🇪 History records Brazil as the 2002 World Cup champions, but Ballack’s story is often overlooked—the story of the martyr who sacrificed his greatest dream to carry a German team that the local press had branded the "worst generation." Shaking off the trauma of "Neverkusen," Ballack and Oliver Kahn defied all predictions. The defining moment came in the semi-final against South Korea: 🚨 71st minute: Korea launches a quick counter-attack. Ballack realizes the defense is exposed. To save the team, he deliberately commits a professional foul. Out comes the yellow card. In that instant, his dream of playing in the final vanishes due to suspension. 🔥 75th minute: Instead of mentally collapsing, Ballack steps up just four minutes later to score the decisive goal, making it 1–0. He leads his country to the final, knowing full well he won't be able to play in it. Throughout the tournament, Ballack was the savior behind tactical 1–0 victories (registering 3 goals and 4 assists in total). In the final, his absence left a gaping hole, allowing Brazil to cruise to an easy 2–0 win. Some players lift the trophy to become legends, but Ballack is remembered for his sacrifice. Let’s break down the tactics: Do you think the duo of Ballack and Oliver Kahn would have had enough tactical might in the final to stop the magical trio of Ronaldo, Rivaldo, and Ronaldinho? Share your analysis! 👇💬

@Mrsinha The 3 Acharyas were from south India. Though they preached Vedanta, they wanted common people to not give up Purva Mimamsa. This southern India always believed in ritualistic ways. Bhakti movement had more impact on North than south . For all it's greatness, it made people lazy

My cousin sister got married to a Telugu Brahmin family. We had initially planned to perform a few rituals in our own traditional way after the groom's side completed theirs. But we were so impressed and overwhelmed by their customs that we simply continued following their traditions.. Honestly, I was amazed. It wasn't that they were doing something different or unique, in many ways, these are the original Hindu traditions that have been preserved with remarkable dedication. Somehow, they managed to safeguard and pass them down through generations, while in much of North India, centuries of Islamic influence altered or replaced many traditional practices to a considerable extent... It was fascinating to witness how deeply rooted and authentically preserved their customs still are...

When it comes to World Cups, you just cannot compare Cristiano Ronaldo to Lionel Messi. Ronaldo's World Cup record: 8 goals, 1 assist in 22 games Messi's World Cup record: 16 goals, 6 assists in 27 World Cup games Take out Ronaldo's hat-trick against Spain in 2018, and he's scored 5 in 21 games. 10 of Messi's World Cup goals have come after the age of 35. Throw in their record in the Euros vs Copa America: Ronaldo: 14 goals, 7 assists in 30 games Messi: 14 goals, 18 assists in 39 games Ronaldo did more than anyone to push Messi to new heights, and deserves more respect than he often gets i 2026 for his achievements as a footballer. But in terms of their impact at major tournaments? There is really no comparison.

It's only a matter of time before Messi (16 goals, 4 penalties) or Mbappe (14 goals, 2 penalties) own the record for most goals in FIFA World Cup history. Let's take a moment to appreciate thalaivan Miroslav Klose, who's held the record for the last 12 years. 16 World Cup goals. 0 penalties. All pure strikes, backed by relentless movement & finishing. Plenty of them headers! My favourite World Cup player! Any Klose fans? 🇩🇪❤️

@riseup_pant17 You are absolutely right. It's bullshit logic to expect BCCi to invest in football. At the end of the day it boils down to money. Cricket makes money now but it was not like this forever. If one day football starts selling tickets, automatically it will develop.

BCCI used to pay ₹5L to Doordarshan to telecast their marches. There was a time when no one was even willing to televise cricket matches in India. What many don't realize is how cricket uplifted itself. It was the performances on the field, not money, that took cricket to the top in this country. Jin countries ke naam ni sune kabhi wo bhi FIFA wc khelre hai jaise unke pass bohot paisa hai
Harsh 17 @harsh03443

Indian football fans are now blaming the BCCI because they fear that if Indian football grows, cricket will be finished forever in india 😭😭

The FIFA World Cup is, no doubt, the biggest global single-sport tournament, with a quarter of all countries present. But if you go by population, the numbers are interesting. The 20 countries that took part in the 2026 Cricket T20 World Cup have a population of 2.50 billion people. The 48 countries that are taking part in the 2026 Football World Cup have a combined population of only 2.25 billion! The gap would be more if Bangladesh hadn't dropped out this year - the combined population of countries playing in the 2024 T20 World Cup was a whopping 2.65 billion. Obviously India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan contribute hugely to those numbers - but countries like Italy have also chipped in - present for the cricket T20 World Cup but not football! It's also interesting that out of the top 10 countries by population in the world, only 2 are playing the FIFA World Cup - the US and Brazil! India, China, Indonesia, Pakistan, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Russia and Ethiopia are all missing. Having said that, it's certainly true that football is still the biggest global sport because virtually all countries in the world will watch this World Cup! Cricket would not be watched by the vast majority of nations.
