Ss in Ms. Kozi's class used balance scales today to explore decomposing fractions - what do you think they discovered? @hcpss_thes @HCPSSElemMath

Most leaders value loyalty. Great leaders put a higher premium on integrity. Loyalty is allegiance to power. You're expected to show deference and follow orders. Integrity is allegiance to principles. You're expected to challenge orders that violate your mission or values.

I LOVE how this @hcpss_dles teacher purposely sits on the floor with her students when students are sharing their mathematical thinking. A small move with a big impact. @HCPSSElemMath

Fluency isn't just for reading. Tonight @hcpss_dles played games and learned why estimation, skip counting, decomposing, and making 10 are important skills to developing math fluency. @HCPSSElemMath

Amazing and insightful student conversations about fact strategies while playing this game today in @hcpss_dles 4th grade. Some Ss used their 3s and 4s to help with 6s and 8s while others decomposed their facts in other ways. @HCPSSElemMath

This morning we launched the @hcpss_dles Figuring Out Fluency book club. Ts had rich discussions while playing "Just Right" & collaborated to create slides for the routine, "Is it reasonable?" I can't wait to see it in action in their classrooms! @JohnSanGiovanni @JBayWilliams

As a math support teacher, you may not always know your impact on the students in your building. Thankful for this tweet and the opportunity to work with this amazing student! My bucket is filled today :) @HCPSSElemMath

Finished reading this today. The strategies in this book lift up the importance of language routines and formative assessment in the mathematics classroom even though they are not mentioned explicitly. Now what to read next?

I didn't get any responses to this question. I think it is hard to recognize our strengths, but it is CRITICAL to the work. BE BRAVE MY FRIENDS! What are your strengths in the classroom? I will start - I am ENTHUSIASTIC! @ksquaredmath1 @NCTM @CorwinPress #strengthsbasedmath

In order to recognize our students’ strengths, we need to first understand and appreciate our own strengths in the classroom. What are your strengths in the classroom? Let’s hear it!!! Reply using this hashtag. #strengthsbasedmath
