@connerwilliamsx @OPB Finding the right term is hard. Houseless is the best I've come up with so far. But you're right, it does assume a deficiency. 'Person who has no house' also becomes wordy when you have two write it over and over again.

@KristianOPB @OPB Yes but to assume they want a house and somehow deficient of some by saying homeless is insensitive

In 2020, a record number of people died while homeless in Oregon's most populated county. And nearly half of the deaths involved methamphetamine. @KristianOPB's story on Multnomah County's annual "Domicile Unknown" report, which was released this week: opb.org/article/2021/1…

@connerwilliamsx @OPB Hey Conner, I understand what you're saying but Google defines camping as someone: "who spends a vacation in a tent or camp." That doesn't fit this context. Cheers.

@OPB @KristianOPB Campers are an integral part of Oregon and Portland's community. Oregon is know for tolerance of campers. And please don't call them houseless or homeless!! Thats pretentious nonsense. They are campers

@Boobalaa1954 @OPBmorning @ryanjhaas @OPB Hey Uncle Bob, I don't mean to create 'fear porn.' I'm just letting people know the facts. I did find out today that BloodworksNW is requiring staff to be vaccinated. It's also stopped using bloodmobiles since the pandemic. Different organizations, different approaches.

"Right now, more than 200 patients are boarding in Oregon hospital EDs waiting for a bed," said OHA chief Patrick Allen. "Hospitals are converting outpatient rooms to medical/surgical rooms or ICU beds. Patients are parked in hallways. Staffing is critically short." #coronavirus

@CathyTuttle @OPB Hey @CathyTuttle I struggled to find the right word in that sentence. 'Activity' seemed too blah. I settled on 'sport' but you're right, I did not mean to say all cyclists are engaging in a sport.

Headline bias @OPB! I depend on riding a bicycle for everyday transportation. I find this sentiment from reporter @KristianOPB who covers politics, health, & business skewed to sport: "Many cyclists think the newfound popularity of their sport will persist after the pandemic."

.@OPB asked BP editor @Jonathan_Maus, "Will the bicycling boom survive after the pandemic?" Guess his answer.... 😁opb.org/article/2021/0…
