@susangbarber what I wanted to do when I wanted to do it. I want to be able to travel while I’m still healthy. I want to be able to visit my sons’ and their wives whenever I want and not have to worry about grading essays. I want to sleep in. And I don’t miss it.

@susangbarber Are people asking why you haven’t retired or are they asking why are sticking with teaching? In IL retirement is a four-yr process, so I had to make my decision by May 2020; I had already decided to enter the retirement track in fall 2019. But I left bc I wanted to be able to do

I won the photo op with Mark Hamill & Hayden Christensen. I may have been vocal abt where I needed to stand, & I definitely teared up as I was able to tell him how much this truly meant to me. Thank you to my daughter-in-law for this! And thanks to @MarkHamill and @fanexpochicago

Well it's "official"...I have cleaned out my classroom (leaving behind my classroom library for my colleagues) and start my new job on Monday. My resignation has been approved by the superintendent (Just need to pay the damages on Monday) New beginnings...

@JoriKrulder @Pringles_UK @Pringles We have them in central Illinois at the Asian grocery store (it’s name is Asian Supermarket) in Champaign (about 50 mindrive for me). My journalism students did videos taste testing different foods, so I went shopping at the various grocery stores to find food for them to try.
