Why do the 1st of May events not ban communist parties from participating? It's one of the reason I literally can't take interntional workers day seriously, at least here in Denmark. I walk into the park where they are setting up and instantly see a hammer and sickle...

@bokoen1 So we should be hounding the liberal parties, for how their Laissez-faire economics in the 1800's enabled, and was fine with child labour? Because i don't really think that logic is very fair to use against other people's political beliefs.

@Krokuke @Rage_Crayon @TheSecretNinja3 @cryptotriv @LocalSharkGirl this is where we differ. you take "have to" to mean that there's external coercion forcing you to choose. I take "have to" to mean that there's a simple compulsion against an unfavorable outcome, like how it'd be during American elections. we are not the same

@ashkat_t @Rage_Crayon @TheSecretNinja3 @cryptotriv @LocalSharkGirl Its. a. hypothetical. In a reasonable world you wouldn't have to write it like "Everyone on earth takes a private vote in a secluded room by pressing a red or blue button. There aren't any more options. If you don't do anything within 30 seconds then two armed men will come to...

@Krokuke @Rage_Crayon @TheSecretNinja3 @cryptotriv @LocalSharkGirl at the same time, he doesn't say anything about Not doing nothing. given that this is a timed poll you can just run down the clock, and if it weren't timed, it'd never end because you can still just choose not to press either of the buttons

@ashkat_t @Rage_Crayon @TheSecretNinja3 @cryptotriv @LocalSharkGirl "Everyone in the world HAS to take a private vote by pressing a red OR blue button." I don't see where he said that you can just do nothing, there wasn't a third option given. I could also just say "I'd press both buttons at once" but it ruins the premise of the hypothetical.

@cryptotriv @LocalSharkGirl that's because, with the buttons, you are jeopardized by the possibility of red winning. with the train, you aren't jeopardized to begin with. the people who tie themselves to the tracks jeopardize themselves by creating a problem that wasn't there to begin with

@Krokuke @750EaglePrime @Johnny_Butz @realsashastone That would be inherently contradictory, either its parties or north/south, there was no switch, if you had to argue anything it was the democrats welfare slave state and running far to left to cultural marxism that switched starting the in the 60's

@MrTellYouFacts @Johnny_Butz @750EaglePrime @realsashastone I think it's pretty obvious that the switch happened, the south has always been socially conservative and they vote for the party that holds these values. A 100 years ago these were the democrats, now it's the republicans.

@Krokuke @Johnny_Butz @750EaglePrime @realsashastone Whether you want to qualify it as north/south or that a higher percentage of repubs still proves it wasnt a party switch/repubs against civil rights issue, also no it wasnt in the same destructive capacity we have today, that started with LBJ's great society

@MrTellYouFacts @Johnny_Butz @750EaglePrime @realsashastone The CRA wasnt a republican-democrat divide, it was a north-south divide. The overwhelming majority of both northern republicans and democrats voted for it. The opposite was true for southern democrats and republicans. And the welfare state was here way before the party switch btw
