@zAlphii No need to study rocket science. You just stack rocket parts like Lego® bricks and off you go!

In case anyone wants explanation: Earth's gravity is still tugging at Orion so it'll slow down on its way to the Moon. Space is more about speed than it is about distance.

@forallmankind_ I wonder if someone has ever done the math of positive pressure inside the dome when it comes to how much support structure you actually need. My intuition tells me a big volume like that would explode it outwards. So you'd need tons of cables on the inside to hold it down.

@LensScientific If you think of the total universe as a sphere it would curve spacetime towards the center and we could measure that curvature and estimate our place in it.

@LensScientific We are trapped in the observable Universe and not the other way around. The total Universe is infinitly times bigger. We see 0.00...001% of it. That is what the flat spacetime of the entire observable universe suggests. There is no edge and therefore no center anywhere closeby.

Ashok Elluswamy, VP of AI at @Tesla on self-driving: "It's so obvious you can solve this with cameras. Why wouldn't you solve with cameras? It's 2026. The self-driving problem is not a sensor problem, it's an AI problem. The cameras have enough information already. It's a problem of extracting the information, which is an AI problem." (via @aelluswamy's presentation at the 2026 ScaledML Conference on January 29th)

With this, it’s like my brain completely glitches out over the fact that the pole hasn’t moved at all, but it’s actually the ice sheet that’s moving.

@Govindtwtt 99% of jobs today didn't exist 100 years ago. Like an app developer. It's very hard to predict future jobs when the basis they build upon doesnt exist yet, like smartphones didn't exist 100 years ago. If we no longer have to solve problems, we can still invent new problems.

Everyone says “AI will take all the jobs.” If that happens… how does this future actually work? No jobs → no income → no spending. So who buys things? Who pays rent? Who keeps the economy moving? What am I missing here?

@Kekius_Sage I think what you mean is not cosciousness, you mean high intelligence willing to send out radio waves into the cosmos. We have no device able to detect consciousness even behind a door. How do you want to spot it on another planet, star system or even galaxy?

@Kekius_Sage If backwards time travel were possible it wouldn't be as in the movies. The laws of physics would simply invert. You would not be attracted to the ground, you would shoot up. The particles you are made off wouldn't stick together, they would explode. We're back at the big bang.

@Kekius_Sage Imagine you burn a piece of paper. How on earth should those CO2 and soot molecules find their way back to turn back to paper? No matter which direction time flows, there have to be forces that change stuff in a way that makes sense.
