It’s great that k-scale is open source but it’d be nice if it were more than a TODO in a GitHub repo

Is forking @kbot_kscalelabs a real option? I'm checking with CNC houses how much would it cost to manufacture the @kscalelabs robot parts. This isn't stuff you can 3d print: the motors would rip through the plastic like butter. The plan is to drive K-Bot using Hoper's electrical platform, compute and software. Tell me this isn't a sci-fi movie we're living in

I thought to create a shortened-links version of the @kbot_kscalelabs, for the sake of learning maximization with reduced CNC costs. Unfortunately the Onshape models are view only, so it's impossible to copy-edit them. I couldn't overlook though the two new K-Bot sibling teasers on the @kscalelabs website: K-Bot Air and K-Bot Mini. No info yet, but it sounds interesting. The Onshape links are published in the mechanical folder of the K-Bot GitHub repository, in case anyone is looking. Much respect to K-Scale for doing that. Dear @GoingBallistic5 and @MarwaEldiwiny please consider creating a K-Bot episode ❤️

what are robot companies other than unitree doing nowadays. this shit is insane the only other company that I know of that is even coming close is @kscalelabs

The Linux kernel has the highest software standards I've ever seen - leaps and bounds above most other open-source or proprietary codebases out there. If you spend time studying the kernel and get to the point where Linus Torvalds is merging your pull requests, you'll find you've acquired great software intuition and taste. Is there an equivalent in open source robotics? @kscalelabs is a good candidate: if you want to study robotics, start here. Fully open-source and capable robots that people can buy. And a mind-boggling residency program. This is beyond cool.

So now that K-Scale Labs has shipped a whole two humanoids in the USA, they are now the #1 USA consumer humanoid Company by units shipped. Incredible.

@nicks_robots Not at present, but there's an IMU right behind the cameras. But reprojection will require depth estimation

@kscalelabs Do you guys use any compensation for the UI when the robot walks around? Does the operator have to see all the wobbling from the cameras?

@campedersen Streaming commands over data channel on WebRTC socket, so whatever the latency for UDP over the network is. On our home network it's pretty fast
