Clean equipment is happy equipment. I’m team leaf blower and grease gun at the end of the night. Nothing wrong with morning time, but I prefer not to wear that dust in the cab all day. Plus inspecting the machine at night gives you the chance to be first in line at the parts counter if you find something is broken. Beats the hell out of wasting half the morning backtracking for parts.

Went to hook the cornhead up. While picking it up off the head cart, a hose that runs to one of the lift cylinders blew out. I’ve never seen a feederhouse collapse that fast. This is why safety stops exist. Thankfully it collapsed back onto the trailer. We always use the safety stop when crawling underneath, but for those who don’t - take this as a warning as we enter harvest. That extra 10 seconds may save your life.
