@TVetor5651 @SFGiants They would have to open a spot on the 40 man roster, either by letting someone go or by putting an injured player on the 60 day IL. When you are on the 60 day IL, you don’t count against the 40 man roster. I hope that makes sense.

This is just a reminder that the Opening Day roster is often not the best 26 players, but the one that preserves the most depth for a long season. Whether a player should make the team or not is up for debate, but fringe roster decisions are usually geared toward depth.
