Some crumbs 🥐: - For this rally to proceed, must start to push significant levels higher on Tuesday $ES_F/ $SPX and later on proceed to attack new highs above +2/+3 standard dev. - If we do not, its a ⚠️flag that we will continue our decline down. - If Fed keeps their "wait & see/react" approach come 1/29 FOMC, we will continue our decline to a 10% correction maybe further: $SPX 5500-5200 by March OPEX. - Only way to stop this is Fed changing their "tone", catering to Trumps will and doing some form of a massive liquidity injection. (still a real possibility) - Correction into March OPEX should spark another counter-trend rally almost reaching previous highs that will end between May-July. - Q3 we get a massive correction, and "when we finally give up a topping process". “Instead of pretending everything is normal….” That segment is such great advice. I gained my daughter and lost my father in a span of 3 weeks last June & I was being delusional in thinking things were the same when emotionally/mentally I was all over the place. Rest up and get well brother 💪🏼

Well as I recover from yet another surgery think it’s worth talking about mental health and participation in the market. The buildup/dread of this procedure has weighed on me and as a precaution I personally traded much less this week. I sort of have a few things going against me for mental health (haven’t been able to work out - physical health is big for me) and I know all too well how this can play into market interactions. Instead of pretending everything is normal, be honest with your self when your home life isn’t good, a negative personal event happens etc. and reduce your market activity. Goes without saying this in tandem with current market environment is key to preserving financial and mental capital. I still am observing, building screen time and sharpening the analysis side of things while I get back to a more normal for myself. Hope this helps at least one person out there going through something, wish you all the best.

You know this. If I’m going to give up carbs and generally all calories, imma eat well when it’s time to eat. Last Sunday was an 8oz wagyu filet. Cost 3.5 handles. I fkn ordered 2 and covered my short and said “thanks for playing.” Lord it was amazing. But this was about as good as a traditional bacon wrapped filet you’ll get.

Markets are sitting in a precarious balance. The probability of a sudden downside air-pocket feels higher than it has in quite some time, yet the Nasdaq continues to show relative resilience above its key yearly level even as the S&P has weakened and finally lost a major yearly level. Volatility has surged aggressively, and if the market fails to justify that elevated vol, perhaps we get the typical vol crush bid. That said, the macro backdrop remains fragile: stress has been building in credit markets, while crude oil is ripping higher amid the escalating conflict with Iran. The result is a market caught between significant downside risk and the ever-present potential for a sharp reflexive rally. My extended thoughts and the key levels below:
