Crom! I was today years old when I learned Danny Elfman ...yes, Batman, Spider-Man, Beetlejuice, Danny Elfman... ....was also the lead singer of Oingo Boingo, the 80s and 90s (kinda) New Wave band known for Weird Science, Dead Man's Party, etc. Huh.

I'm not arguing against free feminine hygiene products in public spaces. I will say, "duh." This statement is pretending "everybody poops" and "women bleed at puberty" are the exact same story. One actually is universal. The other is half the ADULT population.

@JessePeltan The biggest reason this kind of argument exists is implementation. We COULD cover government buildings with solar panels. Instead we cover viable farmland. We could do efficient, instead we do stupid. Then everyone argues with each other.

@AntiCommieBecca While you're asking, you might also ask what the commonalities actually are. Is it that highly ambitious men crave evil things? Is it the environment they engage in once wealthy? Where does the actual corruption come in? All worth asking, but don't just reduce it to wealth.

This actually is a really interesting point/piece. It appears nearly ALL super wealthy men engage in this type of behavior. So if every man who has money does this, does that in turn mean that every man WOULD engage in these behaviors if he could? Is it solely money and lack of opportunity that keeps men from becoming evil? And if that is the case, if the nature of humanity, particularly the human male is to be evil, what does that mean about God? Why would he create a species with the inherent nature of being evil? I know this is getting a bit existential, but if you take the emotional out, these are interesting things to ponder.

Here’s the issue, before, we did NOT break down every single ingredient. We might have said “bun,” “cheese,” etc instead. Now we list every single ingredient for 100% transparency (many don’t do this, such as Steak ’n Shake, you have no clue what’s actually in their food). We list every single ingredient in a slice of cheese or every ingredient in a bun. @McDonalds will even break down the type of flour or even seed oil - not list vegetable oil or four. It’s not that the ingredients have changed, in fact, they have only gotten cleaner. We have removed artificial flavors, preservatives, and additives in our sandwiches, including HFCS in our buns (ex pickles). Almost all of these social media McD posts are incorrect, including the fry one that always get recirculated. These posts are laughable and present the opposite what has actually occurred.

Older people saying that they ate or drank this junk as a child and are fine, well, large difference in ingredients over the last few decades

@Hitchslap1 That would be interesting and funny. We'd find some of the people who get called smart aren't high IQ and some people called morons are quiet geniuses.

@berengue_r @MeghanEMurphy Ok folks are missing the point here. Yes, exercise can help depression. Individuals suffering from depression can’t do basic things like eating, showering, brushing teeth, etc. Telling them to just get off the couch means you don’t understand depression.

I am tired of "mental illness." I am sick of people claiming that they cannot do normal things required of normal people in life because they have "anxiety" or "depression" or "ADHD." This is bullshit. If you lived in any other time in history (or in many other places in the world), you would have no choice but to get on with it. Claiming you can't do basic things like buy groceries, go to work, cook, or go outside and engage with human beings or the world because of "anxiety" or "depression" only makes your problems worse, and is also not true! Of course you can do these things! You just don't want to. And maybe it's hard. And I understand that these things can feel hard when you're struggling, but the question is: do you want to get better? Do you want your life to improve? If so, you have to get on with it! You have to do things you don't want to do like go outside and see people and go to work and go to the gym and walk your dog and get off the couch. I swear to god we were better off when all these labels for various normal humans and experiences didn't exist.

i refuse to believe people with high IQs struggle to fit in with society. You’re essentially playing a game, and you’re trying to say the smartest people playing the game, can’t figure out how to play it? It makes no sense, likely comes from people who think they’re smarter than they are and are struggling.

When it comes to high IQ autism it's often not so much that the person can't figure out what the socially acceptable action would be in a certain situation but that their value system is oriented such the socially acceptable path feels viscerally wrong and conforming would feel like a betrayal of their values.

Refusal to believe does not negate a thing. People being unpredictable and confusing to someone making logical decisions isn't that hard to grasp. We all have our own flaws, and that includes those of high IQ.

@zhengyingli @MadamSavvy Thanks. That's the basic narrative I remember from the time, too. There were a lot of games with silly, almost chibi proportions. A lot of caricature style imagery with only the whiners really complaining. It surprised me a little when anyone started taking it seriously.

In order for lara croft to have gotten where she is for the activists to bastardize her, she had to be popular in the first place. Men were the target audience and they made her famous. Same with samus. Same with any number of females. Stellar blade destroys your narrative. Its activists pushing ugly agenda bullshit thats the issue. We all know youre too stupid to get that though. I dont want to play as an ugly bald bitch with “im too good for this” personality. Maybe if you morons didnt attack everything and just made your own thing, none of this would have happened.

@MadamSavvy Out of curiosity, I checked out what journos thought about Lara's proportions back in the day, and it seems she never had a chance considering IGN did apologetics for her figure right from the get-go as a disclaimer. This was back in '96.
