New Cowboys edge Rashan Gary agreed to a pay cut as part of the trade from Green Bay, dropping his compensation to $16 million each of the next two seasons. Dallas also added an option and void years, lowering Gary's cap number to $5.44M this season and $8.24M in 2027.

Two of my favorite value contracts from this first wave of FA have been two corners in Jamel Dean and Eric Stokes. Two legit very good corners locked up for just around 10M a year. Great moves.

The No. 1 priority for the Bucs this offseason should have been landing a proven edge and not relying only on the draft. Unless there's a surprise Crosby or Greenard trade coming, they have failed to do that. I was fine with Evans leaving IF it meant putting more resources into the defense. The only addition so far has been 31yo Alex Anzalone. Pretty bad all-around.

Compensation update: The Broncos are re-signing RB J.K. Dobbins to a two-year, $20 million deal, including $8M fully guaranteed at signing, per source. Dobbins, 27, was having a career year in Denver before his foot injury. Now he’s healthy and coming back for more.

He was just ready to move on, and I really don’t blame him. Extremely poor allocation of resources and commitment to one of the worst head coaches in football led to this. I’m sick that Mike Evans couldn’t finish out his career in Tampa.

The Chargers are signing TE Charlie Kolar to a three-year $24.3 million contract that makes him the NFL’s highest-paid blocking tight end, sources tell The Insiders. @SteveCaric of @WassermanNFL negotiated the deal, which includes $17M guaranteed.

Mike Evans is far from the player he once was, but I still would have loved to see him back for nostalgia purposes. Evans is no longer a Buc because he stopped believing in the regime, and I’m not sure I blame him.
