I have a parasocial relationship with Rihanna. I grew up being the biggest fan of her and getting to see her in concert only amplified that. Even though she hasn’t released music in a while, I still support her other brands and listen to her music almost daily. #UTcommtheory

I have witnessed nonassertive separation as a student in both high school and college. I have found that many groups will stick to themselves and avoid outsiders. I see those in the same majors stick together or those who are in the same groups or athletic teams. #UTcommtheory

An organization that needs a culture change is UT parking. I believe that since we pay so much in tuition already, we should not have to pay this much for a pass. Also, a $55 ticket is excessive considering we pay only a little double that for each semester’s pass. #UTcommtheory

Communication privacy management: I have some people on Snapchat who post every detail of their life on their story, even private information regarding other people. I know this has turned into an issue when info about others has gotten out on social media.#UTcommtheory

@queernamehowiee I agree with this! My bestfriend and I communicate through multiple different mediums, however someone I met in class & I’m not really friends with, I only have them on one medium & we don’t communicate often at all #utcommtheory

@lilymfreese I love this show! This is a great example of connection and autonomy. Them being together like that when they first got together ended putting a strain on their relationship and their relationships with the people around them #utcommtheory

In the show New Girl, Nick and Jessica are roommates and starting a new relationship. There is a struggle with connection and autonomy. They are with each other constantly and have little time apart. #UTcommtheory

Throughout the height of COVID, there were times my family wanted me to visit them, and I had to decline. This limited us to talking over the phone instead of gathering in person. Some were not so understanding despite being in the midst of a pandemic. #UTcommtheory

#UTcommtheory A time when my “I” and “me” were at odds is when I agreed to go out with my friends knowing I had a big paper due (“I”). Last minute I decided that I wouldn’t go because I knew that otherwise I’d be to tired to finish it (“Me”)
