I don't want to hear how the Cybertruck isn't a real work truck. This thing has been running 2 pumps for 3 days using just 10% a day. Total lifesaver for our latest build. It tows our excavator and powers jobsites like a champ. $tsla

@yacineMTB @elonmusk @Dan16676935420 A dislike is not the same as a downvote. It's like old school youtube. Dislikes won't bury posts, and individual insular communities don't dominate the narrative like the do on reddit.

Very excited for the dislike button. Especially since X is such a positive, uplifting platform full of sane people and little to no bots. I literally can’t imagine it going wrong.

What happened at Social Capital was several things: 1) Personally, I was going through a divorce. It was a very hard time. 2) My ostensible “cofounders” spent more time jostling for board seats and credit for deals with outsiders vs doing good work and mentoring a team. They made the place a political snake pit - something that I had unfortunately allowed to happen. So I killed the snake. 3) It was increasingly clear that my returns were sporadic but gargantuan and didn’t fit in a classic fund with LPs. I was a home run hitter in a business where raising new funds invariably led you to hitting singles and doubles. In other words, I was making suboptimal portfolio decisions so I would return capital in order to keep raising funds. This was important to stack the compensation of my team who had far less capital than I did. I’m in a much better place now personally and professionally. We invest only my capital and so far, so good. Long live Social Capital.

Most tech podcasts are so fucking boring. The host is either some person who couldn't hack it in a operating role (VC, engineer, founder, etc.) or some VC who is just doing it to get deal flow. No one cares what Bill Gurley thinks about AI, they want to hear about why he fucked over TK at Uber. No one cares what Chamath thinks about politics, they want to hear about what happened at Social Capital and why he closed the fund. No one cares what Keith Rabois has to say about Miami, they want to hear about what happened at OpenDoor. No one cares what Sam Altman thinks about AGI, they want to hear about why he was fired from YC and (initially) OpenAI. But instead we get these boring, sanitized conversations about why SaaS companies are or are not dead. Topics no one gives us a shit about.

@valiryon Absolutely. People don't understand the downstream benefits of this. This likely saves Taiwan and that's on nobody's radar.

If you're unhappy with what happened in Iran today, you're either brainwashed or an enemy of western civilization.

Dumbest takes on fintwit: 1. Duolingo somehow prospers in an AI world. 2. Uber somehow prospers in a Robotaxi world. -I can talk to grok and have it tutor me better than any language app ever has. This feature is basically an afterthought to xAI and yet it's infinitely better than Duolingo. -When cars drive themselves Uber goes from being a service to nothing but an app. There is no world where they can undercharge and manage a fleet of robotaxis better than Tesla can. When Tesla offers rides that are perpetually cheaper and more available than uber, all these rideshare companies go to 0. People aren't ready for the paradigm shifts AI is causing. The number of individual companies on this planet will be cut by 90%+

Yeah but FSD in its current form is already a product worth advertising. And it's not like Elon doesn't do it. He does it on X and says he advertises during earnings calls. The issue is he's ignored boomer media for ages. Until now, for SpaceX, and not for Tesla. That's the issue.

I still think Tesla is waiting for FSD to get closer to unsupervised so that an ad can be more effective. supervised FSD is amazing but doesn't look as awesome since you still have to sit there and pay attention. Having a commercial where a person is watching netflix on the screen would be incredible

There's serious cognitive dissonance in the Tesla community, which is fine because Elon will eventually deliver and I understand all that very well, that said: -no Ad? DON'T NEED IT! -yes ad? Wooo Elon ran a superbowl ad! -Elon said Tesla will advertise many times and all we got were X ads where EVERYONE knows about Tesla already. -Starlink is a literal highspeed satellite internet monopoly. People don't have a real second option whereas there are many other cars you can buy. Fact is, car sales are flat and there's no real effort being made to sell more cars. I get it. Not really the goal anymore... Cybercab is. As for the real goal of raising self-driving awareness, you don't do that once you're scaled, you do that preemptively. The amount of pushback we still have to deal with in Congress is serious. Eager constituents help. Bottom line, literally 0 Tesla investors would have been upset to see a Tesla ad yesterday. Many would have been happy. $10-20m is relatively nothing. Seeing this happen for SpaceX before Tesla is wild especially given the timing of the Xai merger after years of being told Tesla investors would get first dibs... x.com/Kyantweets/sta…

Waymo has never had and never will have a legitimate avenue to rapid scale. We're comparing failing products again. When robotaxi ramp starts it's going to be a whirlwind. In any case none of this is really important yet. There is a small betrayal seeing a SpaceX superbowl ad before a Tesla one despite everything Elon has said to this date. It's not a big deal. But it is what it is.

@TeslaCybernut Man, it's not about making people go take taxi rides. This is a PSA. It's coming. It's safer. It's cheaper. So please pass the red tape and don't be shocked by the job losses.

@Kyantweets Wait times in current regions are already a problem(Austin). No need flooding with customers when available cars are low. Next year might be reasonable to consider this but word of mouth about pricing ell probably go a long way

@TeslaCybernut They sold more cars at negative margins. Why are we comparing failing products to successful ones? I don't even care about selling cars either, robotaxi needs to start an awareness and safety campaign now, not after we scale.
