The tragic passing of Edith Katende, wife of Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro, is a painful reminder: Uganda must legislate compassionate leave for inmates (on remand or convicted) to bury their loved ones. Humanity demands it. Many advanced jurisdictions already grant escorted temporary release for funerals. Let our jurisprudence grow with compassion. 🇺🇬❤️

We shall never see the Uganda we want until we develop a central nervous system that enables us to feel each other's pain.

Eid Mubarak from Waltham! Joined the beautiful Ugandan community for Eid prayers today. A perfect moment to reflect on the spiritual highs of Ramadan and carry that peace into the days ahead. Grateful for faith, family, and fellowship. 🌙🙏 #EidMubarak #UgandanCommunity

@Kabugo_ Can’t get enough of your work place theory. QN. Is this true for private entities or cuts across to Govt establishments?

Strange thing about workplaces… the new guy always arrives with “I’ll fix this place” energy. Three months later he’s just trying to fix his salary delay and avoid unnecessary disciplinary meetings.

It's never wise to take life - or oneself - too seriously. A proprietor of a ten-billion juice factory is still a human being. Kings, presidents, premiers, and CEOs are not specimen from outer space. They have emotions, like anybody else. They can wake up in a good or bad mood. They have passions, likes, and dislikes. We need to enjoy what brings us happiness, no matter how highly positioned we may be. Nothing relieves work-related stress like doing something one enjoys. #WorkAndProsper

I don't think parents have to take their children to the most expensive (international or local curriculum) schools (those in the "ivy league" that parents fret about every admittance period) and ruin their financial prospects in the process. The success of our children can not compensate for old age financial instability. Some of the most successful people went to schools that no one has ever heard about. #WorkAndProsper CPM.

🇺🇬Just today in a Montréal gift shop, a stranger says "the guy in New York is from Uganda" – and boom, I owned it: "That's Zohran Mamdani, our own from Kampala!" 🇺🇸 Huge congratulations, @ZohranKMamdani You've made every Ugandan beam with pride. From the Pearl of Africa to Mayor of the Big Apple – not all is lost, we're soaring! Finally something massive to celebrate as ab'antu baffe. Webale nyo, brother! 🌍🗽 #UgandaToTheWorld #MamdaniMayor #ProudUgandan

While you rightly praise the @DailyMonitor for its balanced reporting, I hope you remember to buy a copy of their newspaper every day. That's the only way they can translate your support & goodwill into resources that keep them in business.

Chinese judges carrying the national emblem to provide legally binding arbitration to rural and nomadic communities. These judges would go to remote communities, hang the national emblem on a tree and settle legal disputes within the community. The judicial system in China is there to serve the people and hand down justice, it is not a tool for the rich to oppress the disadvantaged.

Raila Odinga was a true champion of democracy. A child of independence, he endured decades of struggle and sacrifice for the broader cause of freedom and self-governance in Kenya. Time and again, I personally saw him put the interests of his country ahead of his own ambitions. Like few other leaders anywhere, he was willing to choose the path of peaceful reconciliation without compromising his core values. Through his life, Raila Odinga set an example not just for Kenyans, but across Africa and around the world. I know he will be missed. Michelle and I send our deepest condolences to his family and to the people of Kenya.

In loving memory of Raila Odinga, the fallen Baba of Kenya. As a non-Kenyan admirer from afar, I salute the lion of democracy who endured chains and exile to dismantle one-party rule. You paved the way for Kenya's 2010 Constitution—a shining pillar of justice and rights that inspires nations worldwide. Your relentless battle for free and fair elections mended divides, forged unity, and proved that true power rests with the people. Your spirit lives on in every vote and every fight for freedom. Harambee forever. 🇰🇪 #RIPRaila

Being an elite is both a privilege & a responsibility. You are responsible not just for yourself but also for the public good. You can't be man of the match in a losing team. Your "elitism" must advance #society in terms of thought, values, leadership & action. Show direction.
