@SpartyWRLD@PikaSpartanchu Meanwhile Illinois had to literally try and double team Fears the moment he crossed half court in overtime like he was Kobe Bryant

@colehawk23 Got your Illini out there double teaming Mr. Fears in overtime once he crosses half court like he was gosh darn Kobe Bryant. Meanwhile, our best defense was letting Wagler shoot the ball. That was tough to watch.
@MarkSchnake@colehawk23 You don’t like Michigan States style that’s fine. Having a point guard that can’t shoot lends itself to having to manufacture offense in a different way. Still didn’t stop Illinois from having to double team Fears in overtime once he crossed half court like he was Kobe Bryant.
@KyleBuhs@colehawk23 Go back and re read my post. I said it’s the type of basketball that holds back the big10. Purdue has been more prevalent in this recently. That said, MSU just spent 45 minutes hunting for a free throw, only to be rewarded with a win.
@Juan_Ponelo@MarkSchnake@colehawk23 Not sure he had a point. Just doesn’t like Michigan State basketball. And I live 20 mins from Champaign and can’t stand Illinois basketball. We all have our preferences.
So every B10 team plays foul merchant basketball? Or is your point that MSU does, they end up with higher seed in tourney. Other B10 teams end up with lower seeds (b/c they lose to MSU), and even though they’re not foul merchant teams, their lower seed gives them a more didficult road to make a tourney run. Is that your point?
@MarkSchnake@colehawk23 Ranking a Teams or a Conferences success solely based on Nattys is also silly. And none of your arguments translates to the fact you said “Michigan State holds the Big Ten back in March” was just a silly statement that’s all
@KyleBuhs@colehawk23 The Big10 has on avg 10% of the NCAA tournament pool. In 24 years, they’ve won 0 national championships. This is because home court advantage allows for foul merchant basketball that equalizes records, impacts seeding and creates habits in teams that don’t translate to nattys.
@MarkSchnake@colehawk23 Big Ten basketball has 30 Elite 8 appearances total this century. Izzo and Sparty are 11 of those 30. No other school has more than 4. Michigan State is the daddy of Big Ten Basketball. 8 F4s, 11 E8s, 10 Conference Championships in 25 years.
@KyleBuhs@colehawk23 When is the last time the Big10 won a natty? It’s Izzo in 2000. Free throw merchant basketball dominated the big 10 since the early 2000’s and it doesn’t translate to March success. Luckily, you are the last doing it - it’s still brutal to watch.
@MarkSchnake@colehawk23 MSU holding back the Big Ten in March? I wanted to put an lol after that. But it’s really more sad how silly that statement is than funny.
@colehawk23 MSU is the exact type of basketball that holds the Big10 back in March. That exact performance on a neutral court in a first round regional game is an L for MSU. The moving screen that leads to the free throw merchant offense is awful. Did they shoot FTs every OT possession?
Iowa State had their way with ASU's defense on their first drive.
Completely overpowered them, took chunk plays to get down the field, and converted on a big 3rd down.
Mix in a few penalties, and the Sun Devils find themselves down 7-3 early.
