I am honored to be among such an incredible group of early career scientists as a Schmidt Environmental Solutions Fellow. These are some truly inspiring, innovative and ambitious projects. #environmental#solutions #scicomm #optimism A Sense of Urgency shar.es/a0HeO3

@DaviesswPhD @reef_building There are two MCR sites on the north shore, but the closest to your site on Moorea is just outside of Pao Pao bay.

@SolarExpress3 @DanPriceSeattle Best thing that I did was to keep bills separate from my personal needs (groceries, gas, personal spending). Same with spouse, separate accts, stopped NSF bank charges. Decided not to get a degree, went to college for specific classes to gain skills. 20yrs & 5 major global corps

@DerrickFlores6 @DanPriceSeattle I attended community college (not free by the way), and then finished at a state school. Had parental support, worked multiple jobs throughout, applied for every grant an scholarship that I was eligible for and still left college with debt.

@DerrickFlores6 @DanPriceSeattle This is a bad take. Don't blame students for rising tuition and living costs. Don't you think that the stress of insurmountable debt could be driving students to quit? No four year colleges are affordable, even state schools.

@wkimeria White guy here. Pulled over while driving my old beat up truck. Hitch blocking the plate. Was wearing a hoodie and pulling into a taqueria. Two cops approached hands on guns. I took my hood off and they changed their whole demeanour. "Get it fixed when you can, have a good night"

@RepMTG Wow, this bill looks like a bunch of big government regulation of businesses. Congrats on providing yet another example of conservatives throwing their "core values" out the window when it suits their agenda.

@GovDunleavy This is the best you could come up with? More policing? How about putting that money into prevention efforts, shelters, support networks, and mental health clinics.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. In this year’s budget I’ve prioritized public safety by including more funding for Troopers, creating a special unit dedicated to handling sex crimes in across Alaska, and hiring more prosecutors.

@LeaderMcConnell I have a slightly better metaphor. You truly are constipation in the senate's colon. Nothing moving. Except for whatever diarrhea you pass to help wealthy donors that the rest of the country gets covered in

Breaking Senate rules to kill the filibuster would not open up an express lane to liberal change. It would not open up an express lane for the Biden presidency to speed into the history books. The Senate would function more like a hundred-car pile-up. Nothing moving.

@ben_rubinoff I second CoralNet. It is what I use to do point counts of my photos. I'm happy to chat about getting it set up if you'd like.

Do any folks have experience doing point counts of images? I used to use CPCe but I am now using a mac without access to it. I'm hoping to overlay a grid and be able to enter in species ids for each point into an excel sheet.

@jocur512 @ScienceMagazine Yeah, I should have read the article first (I've read a few others about this but didn't see that quote). I am frustrated that all these articles are missing a French Polynesian voice. They have been fighting the French government about this for years.

@KyleDoesScience @ScienceMagazine Disgusting. I think that quote specifically referred to the period during the tests, there was at least one instance where the French could have provided a 2 day warning of exposure and declined

“Everybody knew what was going on, except the Polynesians.” French nuclear testing exposed 90% of French Polynesians to dangerous radiation. Only 63 people have received any kind of compensation. Shocking new report in @ScienceMagazine sciencemag.org/news/2021/03/f…
