In the latest blow to the climate cult, the Maryland Supreme Court has BLOCKED blue cities in MD from suing energy companies over global climate change. The court made it clear: states/local governments can't use lawsuits to regulate or seek damages for global climate change.

The left wing dark money-backed law firm Sher Edling was just COOKED by the Maryland Supreme Court in their efforts to destroy energy companies and now Maryland taxpayers have nothing more than a bill to show for it. MD Supremes: "we hold that the local governments’ claims are preempted by federal law. To the extent that the claims are not preempted, the local governments have failed to state claims under Maryland common law upon which relief can be granted." Baltimore City, Anne Arundel County, and the City of Annapolis were represented by Sher Edling and they sued a multitude of oil and gas companies for bad weather and LOST.

Massachusetts voters are fed up. Energy bills are now their #1 household concern, even above housing, while Maura Healey doubles down on the same policies driving heating and electricity costs higher. eidclimate.org/massachusetts-…

Netflix’s new plastics documentary admits its core experiment isn’t scientific. But the film still features CA AG Rob Bonta and is financed by Andrew Forrest’s Minderoo network, the same network funding NGO plastics litigation tied to Bonta’s case. eidclimate.org/netflix-plasti…

🚨“Gov. Newsom is presiding over perhaps the largest collapse of the oil industry, refinery operations and gasoline production in U.S. history.” “Last month, PBF Energy warned that if the CARB amendments are enacted as written, they “will inevitably drive in-state refining capacity to zero.” Last week, Chevron called the amendments a “death knell” for remaining facilities, forecasting gasoline prices rising more than $1 per gallon by 2030 and threatening to shutter its Richmond and El Segundo refineries. And, while media continues to obfuscate on rising gas prices, blaming them on the Iran conflict, let us remind you that gas was already up .80 cents before the Iran warfare.”

California is on the verge of destroying it’s in state fuel production while demand remains high. That means we’ll still need the same amount of gas but regulators want it to come from foreign refineries that are dirtier and don’t employ Californians.

New: Marathon sends letter to California leaders, warning upcoming vote by state regulators could push more oil refineries to shut down. “If refineries are driven out of the state, these jobs, tax revenues and economic benefits will be lost and cannot be easily replaced.”

Our Executive Director, OH Skinner, discusses why Boulder's specific use of public nuisance to address global climate change differs from normal intrastate regulation: “What they're asking for is an order that doesn't just stop activity in their own boundaries… To the extent they issue an order saying you need to abate global climate change by changing your behavior elsewhere … You're implicating a very different set of questions because you're starting to look like one court governing an entire industry across the country under the guise of common law.”

Connecticut already has the 2nd-highest electricity bills in the country. Now lawmakers there want a “Climate Superfund” bill that could add another 33¢ a gallon to gasoline, diesel, and heating oil. eidclimate.org/connecticut-la…

Over 65% of the oil Californians rely on comes from foreign countries. We’re outsourcing production, increasing emissions across oceans, importing from places with weaker environmental standards — and then forcing Californians to pay the highest prices in America for gas.
