Mark Carney is currently attempting what is maybe the least democratic thing in Canadian history, cobbling together an illegitimate majority he didn’t earn during the election through backroom deals and who knows what else. If you want a majority government in Canada, you should earn it at the ballot box.

Years ago I was unfortunate enough to watch a video of a police officer either in China or another Asian country (Not Japan or South Korea) who was run over by a large truck. He was completely cut in half, with his lower body nearly parallel to him, his boots nearly touching his head. His intestines covered the pavement while he grasped at them and tried to stuff them back in. He reached for his severed lower body, trying to drag it back to him, as if he believed he could put himself back together. It was the worst thing I've ever seen in my entire life. As bad as it was, there was something that was much worse.
While this man lay dying in the most horrific of ways, he was not alone. He was surrounded by a crowd. They weren't trying to render aid, as futile as it may be. A lone stranger or two made a half hearted attempt. Whst were the rest doing? Staring at him and filming him. Horns blaring in the background for no reason. They stood there and filmed. They didn't offer support or comfort, they stood there gawking. They weren't even bothered.
It was at that moment I realized that much of, although not all of the non Western world just functions almost as NPCs. They just wander around almost in automation. Compassion for their dying countrymen? Almost entirely non existent. It was if this was just an average day of the week. It was like nothing even happened.
The symphony of horns was the soundtrack to the worst and likely last day of this man's life. That video helped change my view of the non Western world forever.
(There was a similar incident that happened in China but it was before cell phone cameras so it wasn't this. The cop lived)

my life was never the same after my ex friends gave me 10-12g of shrooms and said it was a small dose
i ended up having a 10hr long trip where i was convinced that i was being taken to hell and then killed 400-500 times, and the entire time i was pleading with god to make the torture stop because i was so scared and kept seeing myself die over and over.
the only thing that helped was repeating mindful meditation mantras which i had been doing around the time.
my life was a bit of a downward spiral after that and i had hallucinogen persisting perception disorder for a period of time
