I don't believe a divine and timeless being would have bones and flesh in the same way we do (outside his coming to us as the son). I believe that there was a method to crafting humanity in his image - not through cut and paste but through intelligent and divine design. Starting with a single cell something evolving to such a complex and complete being as human-kind is nothing short of a miracle. I believe the bible contains a lot of metaphor and symbolistic story telling but is an attempt to describe a divine process we can't even begin to comprehend. I hope you aren't as hostile in your debate as you are in comments.

Hm, that's an interesting take. I feel proof of evolution is pretty well founded in archeological records denying that evolution ever happened would be a big task. I personally believe that god guided creation though evolution, and would use 2 peter 3:8 to justify the historical timeline vs biblical account. I understand a live debate coming so I wont ask you to explain your stance further. I wish you luck in the coming debate!
