As a US citizen you should stand with your country and its athletes when they give you an opportunity to cheer them on against any other country, not find a way to root against them because you hate who the President is. The World Cup and the Olympics are the biggest country vs country competitions on the planet. It’s not about what team your favorite player plays for or who you have historically rooted for. It is a time when you decide if you are going to root for your country or against it. I’m a military kid, who loves God and watched as my friends’ Moms, Dads, Brothers, Sisters and Aunts, Uncles die in service of the freedoms we enjoy today. So supporting your country and rooting for your country does mean a lot to me. By the rules of VAR the correct decision was made on the Egypt goal that was disallowed. The offensive play starts at the spot of the turnover. The turnover happened because of a foul. It doesn't matter if its at the other end of the field as long as the offensive play is not interrupted, which it wasn't. Hence, no goal. Good VAR here.
