We lost another legend today as Steve Tanneyhill passed away from a long battle w Cancer. I had the pleasure of getting to know Steve Taneyhill through the P.E. Center, Pugs, and flag football. He was obviously a great QB but he was a true hoops junkie — and yes, he could really play. Back in the early ’90s, we had competing intramural basketball teams. Steve’s squad was loaded with elite football athletes, and they got us in the championship one year behind Lawrence Mitchell who flat-out physically dominated us. Mitchell was unstoppable, and Taneyhill ran the show — talking trash, hitting big shots, and dropping dimes. The next year, I added Robert Gibson as my Charles Oakley enforcer, and we got our revenge. After all those battles, Steve and I became good buddies. Later on, we crossed paths again in flag football, where Steve was still talking trash and backing it up. Every time I saw him later in life, he had that big smile and always brought up those great memories. RIP, ole buddy. ❤️ #18 #Legend
