Richard Childress Racing has elected to suspend use of the No. 8 and will run the No. 33 at Charlotte Motor Speedway and beyond. Kyle Busch was instrumental in the design of RCR’s stylized No. 8 and it has become synonymous with Kyle and an important symbol for his fans and the NASCAR industry. No one can carry it forward to the level that he did. The No. 8 is reserved and ready for Brexton Busch when he is ready to go NASCAR racing.

I almost hesitate to promote this, because it wasn't really intended to be a piece. I just sort of sat down and it came out. Maybe someone else out there has the same type of day today, and it'll speak to them. realclearpolitics.com/articles/2026/…

This is not true. We looked at this a few years back and found that looking at taxes at all levels of government, and accounting for transfers, our system is highly progressive. The overall effective tax burden for the bottom quintile was 10%, compared to 41% for the top quintile

If you only count the progressive taxes the U.S. levies, then the U.S. system is quite progressive. But if you also count regressive taxes (payroll taxes, sales taxes, etc), it's not very progressive.

The landscape in college baseball is changing. With the 34-player limit, Division I schools are turning more to junior college players for immediate impact. And no school embodies that more than Kansas. Free at ESPN: How juco turned KU into a powerhouse. espn.com/college-sports…

In Citizens United, the Govt argued that it could censor a documentary about a major presidential candidate in an election year, on the theory that—like every other movie you have ever seen on TV, cable, streaming, or in a theater—a corporation was involved in its production or distribution. That cannot be correct, and is why Citizens United is plainly correct. @charlescwcooke @whignewtons

Seems notable that the single largest lever in Mayor Mamdani’s proposal to close New York City’s budget deficit is not a new tax on the rich or new state funding. It is simply lowering the city’s contributions to its pension funds (saving $2.3 billion). And that move was made possible due to higher-than-expected investment returns over the last several years. Capitalism was the mayor’s saving grace.

Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani@NYCMayor

When we came into office, we uncovered a $12 billion budget deficit. Today, I’m proud to say we brought it down to zero. We didn’t close the gap on the backs of working people. We closed it while funding parks, libraries, safer streets and making historic investments in public housing. Call it Pothole Politics. Call it Democratic Socialism. It's government that delivers for the people who make this city run. That’s what New Yorkers deserve. And that’s what we will keep fighting for every single day.

Huge surprise to the market just how bad the USDA thinks the winter wheat crop is this year. If I did the math right, USDA is forecasting that over 8 million acres of HRW will be abandoned in the Great Plains, or 37% of planted acreage reported in the March Prospective Planting report. I had not heard anyone in the market forecasting that abandonment would be this big. But I am not that close to wheat market chatter either.

Crop scouts on the first day of the #Wheat Quality Council's annual three-day tour of #Kansas projected a sharply lower yield — 38.3 bushels per acre — than last year for hard red winter wheat in the state's northern half. agriculture.com/partners-north…
