@_mharvey Yikes hope it heals up fast! I had a similar issue but with my right arm for a month. Was awful and frustrating how stupid the “injury” was 🤦🏼‍♀️

@_mharvey Yeah I've had this issue here too. It's badly designed and in dire need of a rethink! Drivers get confused about 1. the fact that you exist out of nowhere and 2. what the rules are. That sounded and looked like a harrowing experience! I really hate when cars get so aggressive.

What's the real problem with cellphones? That kids use them in school or that all of us have got the balance wrong? Asking for a few billion friends

I thought knitting and religion were both supposed to be calming and sociable? This morning we had knitting next door to a church meeting and it ended in yelling, assault, the council rung, and a pastor trying to convince people not to involve the police. I need a lie down now!

@QueenLeslie1982 I have this issue in slow shared zones too. Car drivers can’t comprehend the idea of slowing down and get so angry when you force them to :/

My sweetie and I were riding home from a dinner and ice cream date on SE 34th between Division and Hawthorne (a narrow, "low speed shared roadway" on city bike maps) when a car driver behind us started honking & revving his engine. I got a pit in my stomach hearing it.

@MrSteveDriscoll It also really helped that Labour campaigned on the platform of delivering 10,000 homes a year; they threw every resource they could at building affordable homes. I’m not their biggest fan but this they absolutely got right 👍🏻

1/3 New Zealand has built more homes (per person) than Australia in every month since April 2021 (27 months in a row). In the ten years to 2018 Australia had out-built New Zealand in every single month. How did New Zealand leap ahead? They relaxed their zoning rules.

Hearing that there is a bit of an organised pushback to the speed changes as part of Katoa ka ora. These look really good - make lots of sense and should make our neighborhoods a much nicer place to be in. Feedback at haveyoursay.at.govt.nz/kko/maps/katoa…

@jdeheij Unfortunately they’ve consistently won on this platform and it’s what won the Auckland mayoral election so that’s what they’re going with 🙃

The new housing development Te Mātāwai was opened this morning on Greys Ave. Fantastic development. Proud to be standing for a party building lots of new public housing – another 276 new homes in our community. 🏗️

@HaydenDonnell All these people going to Aus are in for a rude awakening come fire season. I left because the fires are getting worse and even if your house doesn’t burn down you get sick from the smoke you can’t escape. NZ is the best place to be.

While the rest of the media zigs (interviews people who are leaving for Australia), I zag (interview people who are staying in New Zealand because moving is annoying and inconvenient) thespinoff.co.nz/media/02-08-20…

@tomflood1 Depends on where you’re feeling deficient :) change can be effected in so many ways. I like to switch it up between macro & micro level change - e.g. political advocacy switched up with volunteering at community bike hubs :)

I live in hope that this will become more well-understood! Billions on a few highways will make traffic worse and will create additional problems! We can do better. stuff.co.nz/environment/cl…
