Considering who runs the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, none of this is surprising. I said it before and I’ll say it again… these ghost institutions will rush to condemn and convene emergency summits over bilateral recognition that has nothing to do with them, yet go completely silent when the Islamic Regime unleashes missiles, drones, and militias against muslim nations. You want to know why we call you ghost institutions? Because when it actually mattered, when cities were under attack and lives were on the line, you were nowhere to be found. Lousy statements, absent on action. @RepOfSomaliland keep doing what you’re doing! The OIC is as irrelevant as its own resolutions—issued, ignored, and forgotten.

"Fled Iran as a child" but somehow while most Iranians have trouble reaching even their families in Iran, she speaks to enough Iranians inside the country, and is "only hearing" that they all want to keep being bombed. This is why so few pro-war Iranians in the diaspora have so little credibility. Add to them the former crown prince Pahlavi, who in an op-ed in the Times of London just yesterday again claimed that there are more and more defectors from the regime (where exactly are they?) and that the Iranian people will overthrow the regime if only the US would refuse to make a deal with it.
Eric Daugherty@EricLDaugh

🚨 IRANIAN CIVILIANS WANT TRUMP TO KEEP BOMBING Iranian woman Sheila Nazarian just exposed what she's hearing INSIDE Iran while they face an internet blackout: "The only things that I'm hearing from Iran is that they don't want the bombs to stop." "They are more afraid of this regime than they are of the targeted attacks that Israel and America are doing."

This war is a continuation of the Obama-era sanctions philosophy: Make the lives of ordinary Iranians so miserable that they'll be the ones to carry out the actual regime change. While periodic social unrest is real, reality is Iran's hardliners are empowered by this dynamic.
Gregg Carlstrom@glcarlstrom

"As many as 12m jobs, nearly half of Iran's workforce, are at risk from furloughs or layoffs... the disruption to the steel industry alone threatens more than 5.5m jobs, along with another 1.2m jobs at risk in petrochemical and pharmaceuticals. The sectors hit hardest by US and Israeli airstrikes represent the core pillars of employment and production." wsj.com/world/middle-e…

I was only 16 years old when I first stepped into the political sphere. My first real encounter with politics was Model UN at Harvard in 2019, and looking back now, that moment shaped the woman I am today. It taught me how to think critically, speak with conviction, and hold my ground in rooms where global issues are debated and futures are imagined. That experience did not just introduce me to politics, it built the confidence, discipline, and voice that continue to define my work today. And as an Emirati woman, I fear nothing, because I come from a country that raised us to lead with strength, intelligence, and pride. The reason I was able to stand in those spaces at 16, and continue to stand in even bigger ones today, is because leaders like @ABZayed pushed our country forward, elevated the global standing of the UAE, and gave my generation the confidence to walk into any room knowing we belong there. His diplomacy gave us a nation whose voice is respected across the world, and because of that, young Emirati women like me grew up believing there is no table we cannot sit at and no conversation we cannot lead. #شكرا_عبدالله_بن_زايد #ThankYouAbdullahBinZayed #ProudOfUAE 🇦🇪:

On Holocaust Remembrance, the words Never Again should not remain confined to memorials, wreaths, and speeches. They must demand action. At the height of the conflict last year, I stood at the Israeli Embassy in the UAE with the faces of the October 7 hostages behind me…some missing, some later returned, and some whose lives were brutally stolen. They were never abstract numbers. They were lives, families, and futures shattered by terror. That is exactly why remembrance must come with resolve. The Holocaust teaches us that history does not repeat itself only through ideology, but through the normalization of violence, the dehumanization of civilians, and the justification of brutality. October 7 was a devastating reminder of what happens when terror is excused under the language of “resistance.” The Islamic regime in Iran and its proxies have spent years exporting this machinery of violence across the Middle East, enabling the very forces that turned that day into a massacre. Never again means refusing to excuse terrorism. Never again means confronting the networks that arm, finance, and justify it. Never again means action before another generation pays the price. Memory without action is ritual. Resolve is what gives remembrance meaning. #NeverAgain #YomHaShoah #October7

It’s interesting that US Congress has an eight day period of remembrance while Germany, the nation that perpetrated the Holocaust, has only one day (Jan 27). Why is that? The Holocaust is a tragedy but America ended that tragedy by winning WW2.
Chris Menahan 🇺🇸@infolibnews

Members of Congress kicked off an eight-day Holocaust Remembrance event Tuesday on Capitol Hill, Wolf Blitzer reports. "My colleague Dana Bash and I participated in [the Holocaust Remembrance Day March of the Living] in 2023," Blitzer notes. "It was a very moving experience."

President Trump’s latest post about Pope Leo. I also want to note that this is now, I believe, the third number he has offered with respect to those murdered by the Islamic Republic in January. First it was 32,000… then it was 45,000… now it is 42,000. This repeated shifting of the numbers, something monarchist Iranians are also repeatedly doing, hurts the credibility of the very real victims of this regime. An industrial-scale massacre did occur at the hands of the Islamic Republic. Video evidence, photo evidence, on-the-ground reporting, eyewitness testimony, and documentation from human rights organizations all substantiate that. There is extensive visual documentation from protests across multiple cities, corroborated accounts of mass arrests and executions, and consistent reporting from independent groups tracking casualties despite severe restrictions and internet shutdowns. But this lack of precision with numbers allows bad actors to cast doubt on what Iranians actually faced. If you do not think precision and accuracy are critical in a case like this, then as far as I am concerned, you are helping create the conditions for denial by giving people a reason to question what happened.

Yes, this was BEFORE he normalized relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran. If he truly believes this, why would he normalize relations with the Islamic Republic and welcome its leaders warmly to meet with him in Riyadh and Jeddah? The regime is evil, but MBS is not a reliable character or someone you should look to for moral clarity.
