Right now, Republicans in Congress are trying to push through a bill that would put millions of Americans at risk of losing their health care. They want to cut federal funding for Medicaid, take away tax credits that help more people afford coverage, and raise costs for working class families.

There was actually a way to improve trade agreements that didn’t involve tanking the economy and causing a recession.

The jobs weren’t lost. People were placed on temporary unemployment and nearly all were hired back once markets opened again (financial markets, physical markets, etc). All I am pointing out is the propensity for each side to claim a win when, rather than causing such result, the result was baked in. It’s like Trump claiming he single-handedly lowered inflation in a month. Both are invalid.

I said he claims he decreased unemployment, which he claims. But unemployment was elevated because of an economy that required people to leave their jobs for the pandemic. Which you’ve pointed out as an issue Biden had to overcome, rather than also statistically benefit from as a pseudo-“win”. When many economists state that the economy was already rebounding from the lows of Covid when he took office, thus removing the need for another $1000+ check, which led to runaway inflation that may have “decreased” over time, but had compounded to levels where everything is much more expensive now. Please tell me how one in the hand is worth two in the bush or early to bed and early to rise will make me wise, and because of that, I need to second guess my existence.
